When did Hallmark stop making incredibly powerful television and start making "women's TV movies?"

Just watched "Miracle on 34th Street." In one of the previews from 1947, both a teen girl and a studio boss use the word "Groovy." I didn't realize the word dated back that far.

I wouldn't have thought so, either.

Just lost 20 minutes worth of boring work because WordPress logged me out. Too furious to see straight.

So, I'm off to bed. Night, all.

So, rehearsal wasn't half bad.  It's shaping up to be an ok show.  I'm a little tired of the material, the muscle memory of the returning cast year by year is getting to be an issue creatively.  Some people just can't do something new, or just doesn't want to.   I'll keep trying.  I'm hoping in 2016, we'll switch to Scrooge-The Musical.

Shoot me if I make it that far.

Well, at our rehearsal of "The Wind in the Willows," we had our final run-through without an audience.  Tomorrow will be an "invited" audience and Friday, we open!  The run-through went pretty well.  A few goobers, but nothing horrible.  The sound cues are still being adjusted (and added to), but overall, I felt pretty confident with what I've got to do. :D

AND I got word that our library board has offered the library director position to our internal candidate and just about everyone that I'd talked to really wanted her to get the job...including me!  Tomorrow will be a good day at work! ;D

You can also submit  Outside The Box for an Emmy. I believe there is a category for it now.

That's pretty cool!

That reminds me, I still need to read CATCH ME.  It still isn't available at my library as an eBook, guess I'll buy it.

Can you request/suggest ebooks? I'd think it would work the same way as regular books. And do they have the other books as ebooks?

Also, is it really that bad on your shoulder that you can't read any hardcovers? Even if you lean them against something? I know I usually use my bagabook. BUt even without it, I don't find I have to hold the hardcovers much.

Unfortunately yes.  It would be ok if I didn't do most of my reading in bed with the light out.  I even rest the Nook on top of me while I read or roll on my side with it on the bed.

It is my understanding that it is the publisher's who have decided not to sell certain eBooks to the libraries.  I could ask about this.  Our library eBooks are a statewide library service vs through our individual ones so I'm not sure how I could request a book.

Yes, this is true.  The publishers decide who they sell to and for how much.  It's ridiculous that certain publishers will also sell the downloadable audiobooks to libraries for $50, $80, or even $100...for a frakin' download! >:(

I've been talking, in a private group, on Facebook with a friend who is beginning chemo tomorrow.
I hope her surgery really got it all cuz the odds the chemo will work are not very good.  Sigh.

Help me understand something:

A couple of years back, when Peter Jackson was not only producing "The Hobbit" but was taking over the reins as director, the plan was for two films to be made from the one book.

Now I'm given to understand there are THREE films from this one book?  THREE?  Seriously?

Not only are they making three films out of the one book, I've read that several characters from the other movies who are not even in the book "The Hobbit" will be in the new movies.  WTF??

How ones gets 3 movies from The Hobbit I don't know.

It's the complete and completely unexpurgated and unedited version. ;)
