Survived the first day of orientation and managed to get in a couple of dance classes. Last week was the first time since my surgery that I've been able to work in classes, and I'm really enjoying it.

Dancing in orientation?  Are you sure that's wise?
Yes, it's a great ice breaker with new co-workers.

One of the nicer benefits that the company provides is a service called My Helper. You can pay someone on staff $5 an hour to do what you need to get done but can't because of work. It could be buying Christmas presents for everyone on your list, standing in line for concert tickets, dropping off or picking up dry cleaning, you name it. Sounds strange, but it's apparently very popular. One of the better uses is if you're home sick and you need someone to bring you a prescription or food or whatever.

WOW!  Can I work there too?

Vibes for Vixmom. And I'm glad Vixdad fixed the computer.

Bring them some of your home made desserts - that'll make you most popular kid in the class

I tell you, it's really nice. Plus, there's an on-site pharmacy where you can get all your family's prescriptions filled, two post offices where you can mail packages as well as buy stamps. And one of the five Starbucks is actually the No. 1 store in the chain in terms of sales.

Where did your clown go?

He was creeping me out.  It was a photo of a clown that came to a city council meeting a couple years ago.  He was trying to say something about his neighborhood then get to the circus but the meeting ran too late.  It was pretty funny and he didn't break character or talk until he had to to address his problem

I don't know if they would do that, nor will they take care of children or pets. Too bad on the latter.

I think I may have found a new cat sitter!!  I emailed the local humane society last night and said I needed an in home cat sitter and asked from recommendations.   Tonight a woman called me.  She does exactly the same thing as my former cat sitter, but not as a full time job.  She's actually a nurse.  She only lives about 5 blocks from me.  She even charges the same amount that Sharon did.   I'm checking her references, one person I don't really know at the Humane Society and a good friend who has a wildlife rescue.  She isn't always available, but this could be a life saver.

Plus $5 per hour to travel to Iowa may be a bit expensive

Sherlock has his own Christmas card.  I guess at this point it won't be available until next year.  I'm not sure.

What a beautiful card!

Thank you.

Jane -  When I was going through the chemo I also was having the radiation treatment and I was unable to eat anything -
I was on a anti nausea drug (which didn't work very well) I am afraid I do not remember the name - it was a suppository

medical marijuana is not available here -- I have heard that it is beneficial

I didn't think anything had helped you but I hoped.  I forgot about your not being able to eat.  I did remember how sick you were :)

Thanks, me too.  She wants to come and spend some time with the cats while I'm here and doesn't care if my house is a mess.  Now that's a cat sitter
