Bruce are you friends with Michael McKean?  The following sad story is in our local paper today.

Colin McKean, the 36-year-old son of actor Michael McKean, has been identified as one of two men who died of suspected heroin overdoses in Ashland last week.
Ashland police Deputy Chief Corey Falls said Colin McKean was found dead by a family member at his home in the 700 block of North Laurel Street shortly after 8 p.m. on Dec. 3.
Police said evidence found at the scene suggested McKean died of a heroin overdose. Falls said today police are still awaiting laboratory results to confirm the cause of death.
The other man, identified as 34-year-old Jordan Roth, was found dead by a family friend 24 hours later in the 2400 block of Siskiyou Boulevard.
Police are investigating whether the two cases are connected.
"That's one thing our detectives look into," Falls said. "Just because these happened on back-to-back nights, it makes it odd, but our detectives just try to gather information."
Michael McKean and his wife, Annette O'Toole, own the property on Laurel Street, according to Jackson County property records.

Well, the storms came in and the headache went ...

Pretty sure you had a weather headache.
I used to get those all the time in Florida until the daily 4 p.m. rains came. And they can be excrutiating as the pressure builds up.

Hey bk - what's up with the re-release of "No Way To Treat a Lady" on Ghostlight records?  Didn't you record that for Varese?

TOD:

I haven't been to too many movies this year. But the only one I have thoroughly enjoyed was "Bernie," a very Texas movie and a hoot. The scenes of Jack Black singing numbers from "Music Man" and "Guys and Dolls" were worth the price of admission alone.

I quite liked BERNIE as well.

The goddam postman is really late tonight. I went down the block searching for him and it looks as though he won't hit our building until 6:45 or so. We usually get mail around 3:30so I cannot wait to har his lame excuse.

This afternoon there was an assassination of a 31-year-old man from Los angeles at Broadway and 58th Street.  The news is calling it a paid hit.

DR elmore I know you hate the post office but if they close down for good I think the alternative might be worse.  Do you remember when AT&T was the G_d of phone service?  Service & costs have never been as good since they lost that status.

Back from the editing room.  First cut was very good - it ran exactly seven minutes, which is the same length as Ben-Hur, so length wasn't a problem, thank goodness.  I did take ten seconds (which is a lot) out of the set-up scene, just to move it along.  I spent most of the time working on the first musical number, which involves almost the entire cast.  It was good, but I asked for several shots to be swapped out with others - just felt it lacked a certain dynamic, which it now has.  Otherwise, I removed two bars of music at the top of the second number but didn't change any shots or any shots in the third number.  So, it's pretty much done now, although I'll live with it for a few days and may show it to some friends.

Then I picked up four count them four packages and came home.  No screeners yet, but had a nice visit with Mr. Nick Redman who left me the check discs of the two new Twilight Time titles, Experiment in Terror and In Like Flint - looking forward to seeing both.

Supposedly a local dealer of CDs is supposed to come by, but I haven't heard a peep and I'll be leaving at five.

We just came back from my Mother's.  I'd tried for a couple of hours this afternoon to call to tell her about Rachel's arrival and kept getting a busy signal.  When we got there she was eating her dinner and I could hear that "Woop, woop" sound that tells you your phone is off the hook.  It was the cordless phone she had in her pocket.  I pushed the OFF button and everything is fine.

DR Elmore, our mail was quite late today, too, and we saw several rural delivery trucks on our way out to Otterbein just after 5pm.

It is probably your mailman's day off. With all the cutbacks, his sub probably had to do another two routes today.

They look pretty small, as far as I can see.
