Refried baked beans? Never heard of such a thing. I don't even fry baked beans let alone refry them.... but I must try them. Maybe I will even try refrying refried baked beans.

It's good that you like the soon to be ex-mother in law. That could be really difficult otherwise.

Good morning, all.

Not sure I ever knew the truth about frijoles refritos!  I always wondered exactly HOW they refried them, and why they never LOOKED refried.  But this is why I get up in the morning, and now the universe makes just a little bit more sense.

It is cold this morning.  The only way to warm up is to get out of bed and turn on the heat.

Tried some xmas shopping last night, the mall seemed empty at night.  Maybe it's too early for any real shopping excitement.

Or too cold for the outside mall I was at.

Re refried beans:

I don't believe they are fried even once. As I recall, you soak them, then boil them. When they are cooked, you put them in the oven and cook them more and then smash some. Really good cooked with a ham bone.

If I were to add any.....it would be Lee Remick's film debut in A FACE IN THE CROWD......  I just watched ANATOMY OF A MURDER last weekend....and she was just as wonderful in that film as well....
