So tomorrow morning I have an appointment to see my ENT

I have this little lump -

it is probably nothing - just a result of this sore throat that's been hanging on since SIL gave it to us for Thanksgiving  but well---

considering my history  Vibes would be appreciated

TOD:

BK, can you explain why your Christmas albums are so much better than most of the holiday dreck out there? I was listening to Brent's album, A Hollywood Christmas and Sandy's today and they stand up alongside my favorites from Mel Torme, Maureen McGovern and Manhattan Transfer.

I am surprised they didn't mention it as I came home in a foul mood  - gave the Vixter an earful and stormed out to buy a present I didn't want to buy for a person I didn't want to give it to - and I was just in the perfect mood to do that chore

Well, thank YOU!  I am sure I will like it regardless of your attitude.

A recent hire decided we should do a $20 Kris Kringle -- we have never done this here - we older women with families to shop for  and budgets to keep  having always opined that we'd rather not -  this person  basically  haunted us  until we Scrooges all agreed (unwillingly)  to join in --  guess who's name  I picked

To me, that is taking your "work relations" too far.  You already spend more time with your co-worlkers than you do your family; and now they want you to celebrate Christmas with me.  No to office gift exchanges and YES to Christmas parties where you get drunk and tell off your co-workers.

We ended up doing the Costco run tonight, so that's done.  I have an appointment tomorrow at eleven with Teddy, so that will be done.  I called back Fed Ex and told them I was outraged and that I wanted to pick up my package personally - so he said that would be fine and sent an e-mail to the branch.  I will call in the morning before driving there, but hopefully that will work - it's about a fifteen-minute drive.

I was all set to leave the office ON TIME when  literally FIVE minutes before I was about to walk out of the door someone called and explained why thee had to be a  closing TONIGHT  that kept me there for another 2 hours - hence my foul mood

then I returned home and discovered that a couple of things  I had asked to be done  had not been done  and the full wrath of MOTHER fell upon a poor defenseless soul

I watched the second Ayn Rand documentary - also completely amateurishly made, but again some fascinating glimpses of Miss Rand and lots of good info about her philosophy - and the thrust of this particular documentary was all about Atlas Shrugged and how everything she predicted in the book (which takes place "the day after tomorrow") has basically come true.  The book was slammed mercilessly by the critics of the day and yet it sold a huge number of copies, spent months on the best-seller list and over the years has sold over seven million copies.  Since the financial meltdown and that crap bailout stuff, the book has been selling over 200,000 copies a year, pretty impressive for a book written in 1957 that was hated by all the critics.  It's taught in schools now, too.  The nice thing about history is that all those critics' reviews are available to read and all those critics, at least while they were alive, got to see how the public took to the book.

If they wanted me to spend Christmas with you I would be OK with that (LOL) check your quote!)

- I just resent having to spend  week's lunch money and take  out the time to shop for a person who frankly couldn't care less if they never saw me again when I could be using that time and money for my friends family or a cause I feel for -  and  I will probably be receiving a gift I don't want or need - if we all agreed to  contribute $20 to a worthy charity I would be OK with that   - and frankly  a big Christmas party where once again  I am forced to take time away from my family-- I don't know I guess I am just old and grumpy and miserable and mean

maybe some ghosts will show up and show me the error of my ways

OH!  I like that!  Ifd it was one of those where you steal the gifts that might be fun -  but this one is bring something the other person will like -  too much pressure for me  - it feels like a test

I suspect  there have been a few names  muttered under the Vixbreath -    I was in a particularly foul mood and I reacted rather strongly to a rather minor offense

That is a great idea.  If I was still working, I could give an autographed DVD of my HIGH SCHOOL STORIES episode.

You know I just saw a preview about a new movie called THE MISERABLES, or something like that.  They didn't say when it was going to open.
