That is a beautiful painting, DR JRand! I did not even know you painted. I would like to see more!
Yes. More, please.

It's really ok.  I am a little disappointed, but not too much.   I really do love my clients and I would have missed them....and Edith!   I'm kind of surprised I"m not more upset about it.
That's a great attitude to have. I would like to learn how to have it.

If this had been my dream job and not something I hadn't even thought about applying for before December 1st, when I first heard about it, I'm sure I wouldn't feel this way.   Or if I didn't have a practice that I do enjoy....etc.

Okay, off to run me some errands and have me some Shake Shack -- at their lovely Westport, CT location which is large, attractive, comfortable, with lots of parking and practically no lines!   :)

TOD:

CD:

I am hooked on a new favorite singer by the name of Victor Turpin. He is from Columbia and now resides in Los Angeles. He is also a budding actor (he was the guy in that St. Patrick's Day clip I posted yesterday). I have been playing his CD everyday for the last week. He has the kind of deep singing voice that I love.

You are the only person I know who judges a book and a CD by its cover!

Well, in a strange about face, I happened to hear Victor Turpin as a singer before I ever saw what he looked like. It is true! LOL!

I only saw him in the flesh, so to speak, when he appeared on the sitcom HAPPILY DIVORCED the other week. I saw the credits and realized that he was the singer I was so fond of.

My interview went really well this morning, but they didn't pick me.  They picked the woman who doesn't live around here.  So, that means that I'm going to get a nice vacation next week and will work on moving forward with some changes around the office that Edith and I have been discussing.  I'm really ok with this. The whole process was really a good thing for me.  It made me think about where I am, what I'm doing and how successful I am right now.   I was encouraged to apply for a judicial position in the future.  Don't know if I'll do that or not.  I guess time will tell,

This means you are meant for better things in the future.

Precisely!!!

And if I might add, the work that you are currently doing is very important and I love your devotion to it.

This is sad news:
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/21/nyregion/spencer-cox-aids-activist-dies-at-44.html?_r=0

In summer 1988, Spencer was my intern at The Drama Book Shop. He was funny, sassy, energetic, and through him I met Anthony Rapp and playwright Jonathan Sherman, who had gone to school with him. On his last day of work, before he went back to Bennington, I took him to see the John Waters film "Hairspray." I lost touch with him although I knew he'd become an AIDS activist. What's sad is to have thought someone was dead only to learn that they were still alive and you might have spent time with them before their end.

DR ELMORE did you know Schorling Schneider an actor who lived in NYC for many years.....he was also an AIDS activist particularly with Equity.....

He was also instrumental in helping establish the VITA program for Equity....the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

No, DR JRand62, I didn't.  I had several friends from the Book Shop and Men's Chorus who were heavily involved with ACT UP.  I have a memory of talking on the phone to Spencer around 1990-1992, when I learned that he was positive - someone from the Book Shop might have told me - but we lost touch after that, and I had honestly thought for the past 10 years or so that he had died.

After a while, you just assume that someone you knew was positive has passed on if a space of time has gone when you hear nothing from them, although in Spencer's case, if I had been au courant on the AIDS issue, I would have known he was still around.  Between 1982 and 2012, I've lost too many friends to that damned plague. We living must tell their stories, sing their praises, and insure that they are not forgotten or overlooked.

The End of the World people are now saying "It's not midnight yet."  So, I wonder if after midnight they'll just come up with their next excuse.

BK, those sound like some wonderful scores.  I need to balance my checkbook so I'll order the new 2-score CDs later today. :)

The two new CDs have been ordered!
