Well, you've read the notes, the notes looked back, and now it is time for you to post until the looking back cows come home.

Good morning!

Will be leaving for Buffalo this morning, I think.  They're expecting high winds and several inches of snow.  I hope my flight isn't delayed for hours.

Good morning, all.

Safe travel vibes, KevinH and anyone else venturing forth today.

Got a phone interview at 7:30 this morning about the book. I hope it's fun. I'm barely awake.

TOD: A few highlights of what has progressed into being a wonderful year: my week in Italy, getting the book published and landing my new job. Very grateful for a lot of things great and small since starting the year off with three kidney stones that landed me in the hospital but at least alerted the doctors to a tumor on the other kidney.

TOD:

If there were any such things that happened to me this year, I've forgotten them.  Sigh.

P.S. to TOD:

On the other hand (that's OTOH for those of you attuned to internet lingo), the year went by rather quickly.  Rather too quickly if I'm to be honest about it.  It's all rather surreal as far as years are concerned.

P.P.S. to TOD:

I stand corrected:  I did have a favorite thing during this past year -- a "former" co-worker and friend was hired to be my new boss!   Things have been going very well at work since he came back.

TOD:

I enjoyed directing THE CURIOUS SAVAGE - I know DR CP thinks the show should never be done again....but I wanted to do it just for the last 30 seconds or so when Mrs. Savage sees her friends as they really think they are....  It was lovely....

AND being in THE CRUCIBLE with all the students from DePauw and Mr and Mrs David Cryer was also most entertaining.

And now I am off to work.

Oh well.

Good morning, all.

Gave a few extra "Oy!s" upon getting out of bed this morning.  Oy!  I really needed one more hour of sleep, but I'm awake now with the first cup of coffee in me.  Fortunately, no obligations today -- I get to stick around home, and I look forward to straightening up the jernt.  I have a wonderful batch of CDs to listen to as I putter about, which will be perfect.  This evening a couple of friends and I bring a happy close to this year's Birthday Week with a little quiet dinner.

Tomorrow, more of the same puttering and straightening which will be equally productive and relaxing, ending the day at a friend's annual holiday gathering of the local community theater gang which is always very enjoyable.

Interview is over. It went quick, but it was really good. The two hosts did most of the talking and they were effusive in their praise of using the book, so I liked that.

Now on to the rest of the day. Two hours of rehearsal this morning for church program tomorrow, then the book signing. I'm going to try to get some baking done this afternoon and a Christmas dance party tonight.

Good morning, all! I had several peculiar dreams last night, but I remember absolutely nothing about them now.  I will shortly head to Toyland to proof some more of ROBERTA. When I get home, I have more tidying up to accomplish.

If I have the energy, I will wrap my gifts for goddaughter Charlotte. I want to drop them off at the apartment on Christmas Eve so she'll have them by the 25th.

2012 has been a mix if good and bad:
Good:
I've seen three recordings released to a lot of positive reviews
I made another trip to Dublin
I'm not aging well, but I'm still kicking
I navigated two office moves in twoof the hottest weeks in July
ChasSmith joined HHW
Bad:
I've lost my best friend  for reasions I'll never know
Several people I care about died
The phone's not ringing with orchestration/arranging work these days
The Packard Humanities Institute project finally died
dealing with a difficult conductor in Dublin
I'm aging badly

The good for me:

I have gotten some interesting cast albums the past few months. How to Succeed... in French, Brazilian cast recordings of They're Playing Our Song, Company, Side by Side by Sondheim, Little Shop of Horrors. Pippin's cast from Australian and South Africa. Gypsy from South Africa and the Australian cast of La Cage Aux Folles with Keith Michelle who I also got in the (almost) complete recording of Man of La Mancha from London. Also from Australia I got another recording of  They're Playing Our Song.

Some Christmas recordings were: A Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol, Save The Children: Christmas Carols And Festive Songs (with singers and casts from London and some Broadway shows) Elaine Paige's Christmas album. She was also in the cast album of Billy with Michael Crawford which I also got.

Some oddities were the Broadway cast recording of Chu Chem and the soundtrack of The Fantasticks including the songs that were cut or paired down from the final version including believe it or not Try to Remember the show's signature song.
