DR TCB - I can just ABOUT take a lot of CGI scenery - but CGI animals -

I feel your pain, DR JRand. I wonder, sometimes, how much longer until all the actors will be CGI.

That said, I do intend to see LIFE OF PI, only because I have read about it and the story sounds quite fascinating. Oh, and the fact that most of the performers are from the Bollywood industry.

Tuna pasta salad is made.  I also spent two hours prepping all the other stuff - slicing, dicing and mincing onions and garlic and mushrooms, oh my.  So, tomorrow I don't have to do anything before noon and once I begin it's just assembling everything and then letting it simmer all afternoon while I jog, watch movies, and relax.

And yes, Annette's daughter is doing a party the same night as mine.  Should be lots of fun, parking-wise, although mine probably starts a little earlier than hers.

And remember that when filming began Grant and Niven were playing each other's parts, and producer Goldwyn watched the rushes and decided they should start over and switch.   He was right.

Thanks for that bit of information, DR JRand62! Now I need to find that DVD set.  I can watch the uncut Laurel & Hardy BABES IN TOYLAND as well.

I forgot to mention that the Laurel and Hardy BABES IN TOYLAND is now my 4 year old grand-nephew Cole's favorite movie. He loves the final scene where the bogeymen break into Toyland and Stan and Ollie set the 6ft tall toy soldiers on them.

Cole always hums along with the theme music of March of the Wood Solders, so I will be putting CD soundtrack in his Christmas stocking this year.

I've wrapped my last three gifts. At 202 West 82, this holiday is closed. I still have the cards with money to attend to.

Did you put bells and lights on the fire escape?

I watched a truly rotten old movie today. SHOOT TO KILL was the title and it was a poverty row film from 1947. The leads were really terrible...and it is odd, as I have seen them in other films where they were quite good.

Of course at least 3 of the film's stars suffered from alcoholism and were dead within the next ten years or so.

The other film I viewed was another poverty row film from the 40s, THE VAMPIRE'S GHOST.

It was a better film and all the leads were fine.

Listening to George Duning's scores to his various Star Trek episodes.  What a composer!

I also put out all the plates and forks, knives, and spoons, so the main table is also done.  I've never been this prepared, but it will allow me an hour or two in the morning to go buy a couple of gift cards and get to the mail place.

Tomorrow, the family is getting together at my parents' house and doing our gift-giving then.  Christmas day, we'll all get together at my sister's house.
