Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of a not-so-hot restoration, and now it is time for you to post until the restored cows come home.

We had a great party out in New Jersey yesterday. More food than you can imagine and a nice visit with cousins.

Today we will head out to Long Island for a few days. Long Island will also be a food fest.

It's been a quiet holiday time for us this year. That's good.

Another long day ahead. Our Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols is this morning. We have to play at both services, and I'm a little exhausted after last night's dance party, which was fun.

Good morning, all! I stayed up too late last night watching a 2-hr presentation of the Fabulous Beekman Boys on the Cooking Channel, and after two hours of food-oriented commercials, i had yo turn off the tv because I was starving.

I have few plans today beyond wrapping a couple of gifts and getting Christmas bonuses settled for my super, postman, and the doormanand super at the office. Perhaps I'll watch THE BISHOP'S WIFE, a film I've never seen.

DR TCB - I can just ABOUT take a lot of CGI scenery - but CGI animals - NO.  But I won't say anymore, because I don't want a repeat of what happened when I expressed my opinion about Flaherty & Ahrens.

DR ELMORE - The Bishop's Wife should be SEEN at once.....even David Niven is fine....and Loretta Young and Cary Grant and Gladys Cooper are all outstanding.....

And remember that when filming began Grant and Niven were playing each other's parts, and producer Goldwyn watched the rushes and decided they should start over and switch.   He was right.

Yesterday was a bit insane, what with having to fight the holiday traffic and shopping crowds to replace a just-deceased 32-year-old Sears Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner.  Did about two and half minutes of research, decided to stick with Kenmore for another 32 years, chose the model I wanted, schlepped across town to pick up one of the 8 units the website said the local Sears had, and came home empty-handed after it turned out that the website's information was...

(you're not going to believe it)

(ready?)

(here it comes...)

a complete falsehood.

The store's system also said 8 units, but they were nowhere to be found, and they apologized over and over for the apparent -- I believe the phrase was "inventory error".

Oh well.  I still wanted that one, so I paid for it at the sale price which ended yesterday, and I'll have it within a few days.

Even including that little adventure, I guess the day was pretty nice, though I didn't have a chance to watch or listen to a damned thing.  The little birthday gathering last night was lovely.  And that is my tale.  The End.

Well, Rat's Ass!, as my dad eould say.

I cannot find the holiday collection with THE BISHOP'S WIFE. I honestly have no idea where the fat hell it is.

I've done the same thing a couple of times.  I ended up with three LP's from ROME ADVENTURE.
