As for the beers, pub food, and high teas, I wouldn't know. I do have me an authentic Brit in residence - and we have our Christmas crackers and make tea every day in our Brown Betty . We keep a goodly supply of Branston pickle, HP sauce and pickled onions in the cupboardI am known to make a trifle with Birds custard from time to time and a do make lovely steak and mushroom pies, chicken pies and shepherd's pie (if I do say so myself) I have not yet mastered scones and haven't a clue as to how to make or where to buy clotted cream for high tea - though I supposed I could rustle up some cucumber sandwiches in a pinch No steak and kidney pie? That's a relief.no. i draw the line at kidneysI do, too. The meat tastes too glandular.
