If I could take the musical numbers away from the script, it would be a lot better.

Funny thing is, that's why I put the movie on. The taste of Sparkle, for the very same reason, was so bad that I thought this would be a relief.

I remember when I was around 12, I saw BABES IN ARMS or BABES ON BROADWAY; and I was so shocked when Mickey Rooney did a musical number in blackface.
