It truly baffles me how anyone could not have seen Chinatown by now, at least anyone who considers themselves a movie buff or even anyone who loves movies.  It's timeless, it's brilliant, and should be seen by everyone.  For those here who haven't, you really must correct that mistake and believe me, it's a huge mistake.

My reasons for not having yet seen CHINATOWN are that the 70s use to be my least favorite decade for films, and because this particular film stars people I have never liked much, so I never sought it out.

But now that the 80s are my least favorite decade for film, and the 70s are starting to feel nostalgic.....but, before I get to Chinatown I have a lot of Blaxploitation and "women in prison" movies from that era to watch first.  :)
Cotton Goes to Harlem, Five on the Black Hand Side, Sweet Sweetback's Bad---sssss Song and Foxy Brown -- all favorites from my late teens. Have fun exploring those.

Tuesday evening greetings!  We are being treated royally here at Norwich Cathedral.  Our days start at 7:30 am and end about 9pm.  Exhausting, but worth it.  Some photos on my Facebook, but I don't think I can post them here with my iPad.

All of you people who somehow, inexplicably, have managed to never see CHINATOWN can do their penance by sending me some more swamp movies.

I've done about seven pages so far, so break time.  But I'm dealing with some wackiness regarding the Kritzerland site, which is down.  Web guy is on the phone with them - it's paid up for the next four years, so it's not that.   If it's not back up within the hour, I've told the Web Guy to tell our host that we will be moving elsewhere immediately, like tonight.  Then they can just refund me the thousands of dollars I paid in advance.

Believe it or don't, but the lead dancer in this clip is one of my Facebook friends now  ;D

Oddly enough, I just found Kritzerland down -- I wanted to see some soundtrack album -- and came here to see if BK had posted anything about it!    :)

You must have missed my post just below DR TCB's "Who?"

TOD: Texting. It has not only helped erode grammar and spelling, but it seems to be the cause of an increasing number of accidents.

Funny but true.

TOD:

WARM-AIR HAND DRYERS

Does anyone like them? They are awful. Noisy; take ages to dry your hands; not as efficient as towels; studies have shown they are not as hygenic as towels. They are a backward step and are only installed because they are cheaper - not because they are better.

I hate them.  I've also read that paper towels are more hygienic.

Still dealing with it, or rather the web guy is.  It's a little nutty to me but it should all be taken care of soon.  The department we're dealing with ONLY deals via e-mail and they respond to e-mails ONLY in the order they're received.  I had my lawyer write that department a strongly-worded little missive just now and when the site is back up then we're either going to move it elsewhere or we're going to have a conversation that will prevent this sort of thing in the future.

That said, I can understand how knowing the movie would help explain why in "Outside the Box," the Jake character suddenly has a bandage on his nose.

And the duet, which I loved.  She expresses my thoughts about him when I first watched the movie :)

TOD:   I'm sorry, folks, but my vote is for the entire "CELL PHONE" horror show.  Driving while yakking on the phone, walking down the street and talking like you've been out in the sun too long, walking down store aisles completely oblivious to everyone around you, talking while on an elevator while shooting evil glares at anyone who dares make a noise while you are talking....and TEXTING, too...IT ALL NEEDS TO GO AWAY!

It sure comes in handy during emergencies.  At times a quick text beats calling.  It is texting in inappropriate places that is a problem.  I have "rudely" answered my cell phone during emergencies and polity explained the emergency to the person I was rude to.  They always understood.  Fortunately those emergencies haven't happened very often.

That's ridiculous!  No one should have to deal with problems like that.  Have you found out why it happened?

I believe my sister made Harper's outfit, by the way.

I'm impressed.  Not only does she have talent but she has good taste.

Jane, my sister has become pretty handy with a sewing machine since she retired. Of course she used to make shirts for me when she was in High School and I was a little kid. I even modeled them at one of her school events. I guess I was her brand ambassador back then.

DR Cilla at least a week ago I sent you a request for you to lend me a Barnes and Noble book through the "friends" exchange.  I just now received the following:

Just a reminder: you can always purchase the NOOK® eBook and instantly download it instead.

Please visit our NOOKbook Store if you would like to purchase the NOOKbook and instantly download it instead.

Did you even receive my request?
