The Vixter went into NYC to Sloan Kettering  today with some friends to donate blood for a 13 year old with a blood cancer (I am not sure  of the correct name  of the disease - not leukemia)  they  won't take mine  because of the radioactivity that was injected into me last Friday and they won't take Vixdad's because he is suspected of having Mad Cow disease by virtue of have lived in England prior to 1986

I never thought of Mad Cow disease as being an issue.  I guess they can't check for it.  What about anyone that has traveled in England prior to 1986.

Actually i am kinda proud of the kid -  she was supposed to go to a party  and she has an aversion to needles and she cancelled out of the party to go give blood  (also proud of the friend that was completely understanding about why Vixter  was cancelling)

Nice all around.  Is she sure she has the right blood type?

I had a half order of the Swedish crepes and a half side of bacon...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
You mean a side order of bacon? I usually sit down to a whole slab.

it was half a side order   I only wanted two slices instead of 4

I'm sorry, I don't understand.  Could someone please explain the following concepts to me?

"half a side order"
"only wanted two slices"

I just can't seem to wrap my brain around those things...

I don't think the blood  type mattered  I think the patient is "credited" for each  pint donated  in her name no matter what the type

I am home from a lovely dinner with the mighty Rob Berman at Angus McEndoe. I bit the hell out of my tongue and it won't stop bleeding! I do hope I didn't spit blood all over Rob. I'm currently holding a teabag to the wound. Makes it hard to type.

Credit is good :)

That was a very interesting list of blood donation regulations.  Thank you.

Rob and I talked about recording ROBERTA, and he directed me to this:

I'd never seen it, and it's brilliant.

Yes, I lost a couple hour of my life on that too.   I wasn't going to go, but the "see all the nominee" bug gets me and....well...I went.

Paul really wants to see Django...I don't want to see that either, but since it's on the list, I may go to it.  Plus, he hated Les Miz and told me it's payback, lol

I didn't dislike THE HURT LOCKER, but I would never sit through it again. The things we do for love!
