Thanks to DR BEN for the link to the WOMAN EATER info.....  DR JOHN G - watch at your own peril......

Lovely cat photos from DR JANE......
I don't plan on watching it. I think the questions it raises would probably be more interesting than the movie itself.

TOD:

Looking at Warren Beatty's film credits on IMDB, I find that I have no favorite Warren Beatty films.

I've never been a fan of Beatty either...but I do like SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS.

Right outside our hotel we bought 48-hour tickets and at, 10:30, boarded a Big Bus tour that took us all around London.  We took about an hour break for a light lunch at the National Gallery and got back to the hotel about 4pm.  Tomorrow, we'll use the bus more for transportation than tourism.  There's also a river cruise included, so we'll try to work that into our plan.

HEAVEN CAN WAIT
BONNIE & CLYDE
McCABE & MRS MILLER
SHAMPOO

I pretty much can't stand to watch the early films of Shirley's brother.  Pre-BONNE & CLYDE, there's just something about his screen persona that rubs me the wrong way.

I dodged a bullet last night.

I came home to find the temperature in my house at 63 degrees.  And yet the heater was set at 74.  It would run, but there was no fire in the furnace.  Fortunately, my heater is covered by my gas & electric company and even more fortunately, they were able to send a guy out to fix it.  Turns out my ignition was dull.

DR Ginny, no time for any theatre?  What's the hot ticket there now?

I thought it was about time I bought a new landline phone because I've had it for about 20 years. I chose and bought one a few days ago which worked for about 24 hours before developing a fault. I changed it for a different model today, which hopefully will last longer. I suppose i should have left well alone when my old phone was working perfectly well  :)

Sadly, HMV, a British institution where I have been buying LP records, then CDs, videos and DVDs etc. since 1963, has gone bankrupt. There will be nowhere left in the UK to buy music and films, other than on-line. I far prefer to browse in stores and buy and take away a physical product but it seems as if those days may have gone for good.

Not this time, DR Dan (the Man).  We both have coughs that have no place in a theatre and we don't think we should be out in the night cold.  We've seen a lot of the musicals, too.  Before Norwich, several of our classmates saw UNCLE VANYA, with the actress who plays Lady Edith in DOWNTON ABBEY in the cast.

There is almost no where to physically buy things even in New York. I can go down to

J&R

for OCRs and other CDs and if I want used I can go to Academy, though they are selling fewer and fewer OCRs also. It's depressing!

Hello, everyone.

I am home with the sore throat that's been with me now for the past month. I had to cancel a dental appointment and I'm not happy. This poor tooth needs help and between one thing and another I haven't been able to get it taken care of. So I'm a disgruntled couch potato.

Ginny, such a shame you can't see any theatre on this trip! It isn't the bargain it used to be, but it's fine theatre.

It's OK, DR Jeanne.  That wasn't really a priority this trip.

I want to pass on the news about Junior's. I ran into a neighbor while putting out the garbage. He told me that he worked at Junior's for 33 years and never missed a day, and now, of course, has lost his job. I had no idea he worked there. He told me that someone else has already leased the space--another deli! When I asked if Junior's was going to reopen in another spot, he seemed doubtful. He also told me that the owners' assertions that they couldn't make money wasn't true.

I do hope that the new deli is a good one. My neighbor is interviewing with them later today.

I know, but still. There are, after all, lots of OTHER things to see and do in London.

We did go to Choral Evensong at Westminster Abbey again tonight.  There were lots of diplomats there.

Oh, I meant to mention that I love Dorothy Fields' songs. I don't know why she isn't better known among the general populus. Her songs are, but not her name.
