We saw a repeat of episode 2 of the new DOWNTON ABBEY season last night and now we're all ready to be on track for tonight's broadcast of episode 3.  By missing episode 1, did we miss Shirley MacLaine all together?

Yes, you missed Shirley.

I just finished my Moross work until the last piece in the Suite for BIG COUNTRY arrives. Back to ROBERTA!

It's been snowing continuously for 9 hours now so it's getting quite thick. The airports have been disrupted for 3 days now. My neighbours' children have built a massive snowman so some people are happy to have so much snow! I've got lunch tomorrow with people I used to work with - I hope I manage to get there.

I have finished my Basil Rathbone play and have just ordered the final proof.

Assuming there are no problems, the script should be available in both paperback and Kindle editions in about 2 weeks.

Congratulations!

Sounds like we were lucky to get out when we did!  One of our professors and his wife were scheduled to leave later Friday afternoon and I wonder if they're still in London...

Nine straight hours of snow is my idea of a message to move to an island near the equator.

After trying to get an hour or two or rest I walked to the Pantages Theater to see Peter Pan.  The Pantages is enormous--I had a seat on the side --row S (which is halfway down the aisle--the rows have double letters after A-Z).  I enjoyed the show very much, even with the fidgeting and talking of a few little ones nearby.

DR vixmom-
To answer your question-there are pictures but I still haven't figured out how to post them.  BK told me about tinypic.com.  I still haven't figured out how you access the photos from tinypic while you're posting.

DR KEVIN H if you join Photobucket for free.....and load your pictures there.....when you click on your pic there is a little box that gives you the image code.
Just click that and then click paste on a post at HHW and the picture shows up.

Prisoner of Second Avenue - 1990

I think MR BK should do this play in LA starring himself, of course.

Saturday's TOD:

Richard Neutra houses.....I guess I really like the 20th Century Mid-Century designs....in homes, buildings, and furniture.

I have taken the Frank Lloyd Wright tour in Oak Park, Illinois, and nearby.....which is very interesting.

And I am fascinated by the Eastern Building in Los Angeles, that I first noticed in an episode of SOUTHLAND last year. If you are going to have a building, it might as well be turquoise terra cotta and gold leaf.

That reminds me, I need to talk to the owners of a local Neutra house who want to get it on the registry

It's the Everest house.   Here's a link to the photos

The little trees are now huge full grown trees, it's back in the woods instead of being out in the open

Today I landed a possible conductor if Rob's show dates prevent his making the Dublin trek this year. The recording dates will be August 13-23. No more waffling, as I heave a huge sigh of relief.

A lot of his houses are falling aprt DR CILLA LIZ....so it's nice that someone is making the effort.

Here are a couple of photos of the Kriegher House in Brownville Texas that was restored by students of UT Brownsville.

The current owners bought it from the original owner.  It sat empty for a long time and had to be restored in a similar way.

DR Jrand62, I've taken the Oak Park tour, too, and would do so again, not only for what's on the tour itself but to just enjoy that incredible neighborhood.  (Talk about houses you'd like to live in...)

That Eastern building is incredible, and it reminds me of another one whose name escapes me.  It was in downtown L.A. and demolished just prior to when I moved there.  I first learned of it by seeing it in the film ZABRISKIE POINT.  Oh, what the HELL building was that?

Looking for it now.  I'm thinking it was an oil company building.
