Well, you've read the notes, the notes were protective, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're lucky to have their own protective MOOS.

The wrong date on today's notes. I am sure by the next time I look it will be taken care of and this post will become redundant.

TOD

The Hounds of The Baskerville (Peter Cushing & Christopher Lee)
Murder By Decree (Christopher Plummer & James Mason and many others)
The 7% Solution
The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother
The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (Slightly flawed because of studio cutting. One day the whole version will show up)

TOD: I loved reading the Sherlock Holmes mysteries when I was a kid. I wonder if I would still like them now? Anyway, "A Study in Scarlet" was my favorite of the series. I also loved the Basil Rathbone film series, except for the one where they went to Washington. And I'm really enjoying the new Sherlock series with Benedict Cumberbatch.

I've discussed the book with two close friends and I've got a clearer picture of things now - really helps to talk it out.  I'm going to make some small character tweaks that probably won't even involve a total of ten or fifteen lines and that will be it.  I will decide on how long to sit on it - it wouldn't be out before May anyway, and I might just wait until September, but I feel I've discussed the little issue this book might have in terms of the one character and I feel that with the tweaks I'm going to be fine with it.  I think the book tells an interesting story and there's a good lesson in there and that's very important to me.

Good idea to discuss it with others. I would make the changes and then maybe have someone else read it other than Margaret.  The only reason i suggest this is because sometimes it is easier for someone to read the thing for themselves vs you trying to explain the thing that might upset people.

Still frigid here. I think just today and tomorrow. Then Saturday and Sunday will still be quite cold. But by Monday it should be regular winter temps.

I watched a cute comedy last night. Pitch Perfect. IT's about some college kids who are in acapella groups that compete. It stars Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow.

This morning, I quipped: "I should enter a triathlon".

And, my wife responded: "That would be: Stand up. Walk into another room. Sit down."

TOD:

THE ADVENTURES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES
and THE SCARLET CLAW, both with Basil Rathbone.

Would you expect me to answer anything else?

WITHOUT A CLUE with Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley is, in fact, one of my all time favorite comedies.

We watched SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS last night.

It's very funny; written and directed by the same guy who did IN BRUGES

Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken and Woody Harrelson are terrific.

Good morning, all!

Either I got to bed too late or I took the sleeping pill too late because the body did not want to leave my bed this morning. I'm usually in bed by 10pm, but last night it was closer to midnight, and I'm rather out of joint about it. So, I believe I will stay inside this morning and work on my taxes.  Toyland can wait till tomorrow.

More coffee!

Thursday morning greetings!  My goal all week was to be recovered enough to attend my book group tonight, but I have failed.  Just sent my regrets via email to the hostess  :-\

The only Sherlock Holmes story I have read is THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES.....and I enjoy ALL of the versions of that movie.

And I do think that Basil Rathbone was the best movie Sherlock.

I have never seen a Sherlock Holmes play.

I think I may do the laundry this afternoon so I can spend tomorrow and Saturday at Toyland.

I thought that Peter Cushng resembled most my vision of Sherlock Holmes, but i've also liked the Jeremy Brett series, and Ian Richardson, whom I've admired since MARAT/SADE. It was a pleasure working with him and Ia Mackellan in 2001 on BABES IN TOYLAND. I'm happy that I got a chance to tell Richardson what a wonderful Henry Higgins he was in the 1976 revival of MY FAIR LADY.
