Tonight we will watch Dinner at Eight. We both just read a bio of Marie Dressler so we are looking forward to the movie.

I'm waiting for Season 4 of Waiting for God. It's on reserved at the library. Then Season 5 and then The Grand and then we will start One Foot in the Grave, which Anthony loves (and I know Anthony's parents and Vixmom also think it's a great series). We will watch Downton on Sunday

DINNER AT EIGHT is one of my favs.  I love Marie Dressler in it.

No snow here yet.  I won't mind a coating of an inch or two. Once I get home, that is...

So has anyone seen the biggest Bollywood hit of 2011, STUDENT OF THE YEAR?

I watched it on DVD last week and it deserves all of the accolades that it was getting. The 3 leads are all making their debuts. The two male leads were fantastic. The female lead was ok...but she had little to do as the film seemed to focus more on the two guys...and why wouldn't it!

THE BIGGEST ARMORED CAR ROBBERY IN HISTORY.....and I bet Mamie sings!

DR JRand, did you know that Mamie recently released a new album? It is available for download on Amazon.com. I think she even has a couple of music videos from it on Youtube.

No I didn't....but I shall check it out.

Interesting fact: both actors are facebook friends of mine. Although the one on the right posts quite often about assorted things, the one on the left rarely posts anything.

Another interesting fact: The producer/director kept both actors living in his home while making the filming...he felt it would be best so that he could more easily "coach" and "rehearse" them. The newby actress was not invited to live at the house, oddly enough.

I can't reveal that information. You must see the movie to know.

It really is an enjoyable movie with LOTS of musical numbers! And a few lovely scenes on the beach as well ;)

I don't really want to eat until dinner, but maybe I'll go have a bagel or something, just to tide me over.

It's Friday, and I actually read Filichia without having to be reminded.

Failed the test, though.  At best, I knew about half a dozen of those.  I'm terribly with lyrics.  Absolutely terrible.

I only got seventeen, including the bonus question...but I did have to look up a couple of song titles.  I at least knew what shows those two songs were from, though.  I just couldn't remember the actual song titles. ::)

Oh my GAWD.

BK has mentioned this a few times and it got me curious, so this morning I thought I'd pick a forum, search on the word "slipcovers", and sample a few threads.

I chose bluray.com, but I'm sure you can find this on AVS or any number of other huge forums.

Stunned.

An example of the "collecting" mentality at its worst?  I'm almost speechless.  Almost.

Slipcovers are just a marketing tool. I don't understand why people would want to collect them. I always throw mine away.

I don't specifically "collect" them, but I keep them if the copy that I have has one.  I figure that they can help protect the case in case something happens.

Page Three Dressler Dance:

Back in September, TCM had a month-long tribute to Mack Sennett.  Each Thursday night, they shows shorts and full-length silent (and a few talking) movies that Sennett made from 1909 to 1933.  One of them was Marie Dressler's very first movie (it was silent) when she was 45 years old.  It was pretty darned funny! :D

It was a poor day at Toyland: for the third time in two months,  the internet was out: four days in December, one day a couple of weeks ago, and now today. I couldn't accomplish a lot of what I needed to do today, and I'm very pissed about it.

So, I'm home and needing something warm to eat or drink.

Went and had a bagel to tide me over and proofed Chapter One - lots of little tidying up things, but it read very well.
