Guess I should catch you all up.  The house still isn't done.  Nothing has happened so far.

In the good news department, I am FINELY away from that bad supervisor at work.  I will be starting down on the 17th floor tomorrow.  Just getting away from her makes me feel like a giant stone has been taken off my chest. Just  hoping I didn't jump from the frying pan into the fire.

DR Danise, good luck with the new job! Do not burn your bridge with the lousy boss. You never know when she'll turn up again!

I'm at a Peet's again.  Just sayin'....

I'm sure it is good for you to get out.

I'm out all the time.  Just don't have a space on the other side of the bay to kill time.  I need to work on my office at church

I thought it was to be out of the office & your new bedroom.  I hope you like Pete's.

At 2:51am I purchased a book from Barnes and Noble.  True to form, at 8:00am a book came in for me to check out at the library.  ;D

Well, there's something to be said for consistency.

;)

Ha, thanks.  The new bedroom is shaping up.  Almost like a mini version of the apartment I lived in the LAST time the roommate and I went our separate ways.  Everything is good

Had you already started reading it?  I am waiting for quite a lot of books to come in at the library. They have not gotten any of the new books from January yet. But I have so many books waiting to read. I won't run out for quite a while!

Did you not have anything else to read but the book you just bought?

I came home early from watching my nieces because there is supposed to be freezing rain.

I spent 20 minutes listening to her read her homework. A french book with a detailed discussion of gravity. It felt way too complex for her (7). Thank goodness i had to go so her dad was able to listen to the rest.

IT was odd because the words were not hard (there were no words i did not know). But i felt like the topic was a bit too difficult for her to really grasp.

:)  The way you said it before I wasn't sure it was good.  I expect emotions during something like this can still fluctuate.

I was out of downloaded books to read except for Sherlock Holmes which I only read one at a time in-between my other books.

I have a wish list on my Nook and it was a book I've been wanting to read so it was ok.  The books on my wish list aren't available through my library.  I'm also hoping the book through Nook, THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS by ML Stedman which DR td raved about will make a good discussion book.  So far I'm enjoying it very much.

Sorry, yes I began reading the Nook book last night.  I only order books in the middle of the night if I need something immediately.

That does seem odd for a 7 year old book.

Going out soon to see some laptops.  Oy!

If you're working with a Windows laptop you will most likely get Windows 8. If you find that you hate the new opening screen (which is made for a touch screen) you can look into downloading

Classic Shell

which will allow you to modify the OS so that it opens the old way and contains a Start Button.

Most, if not all laptops sold in Best Buy, Staples or Office Depot now come with Windows 8. You can get Windows 7 if you buy on line from Dell (I don't know about the other computer manufacturers) but store-bought PCs are Windows 8

Or you can get Retro UI http://retroui.com/ it was designed and released by DR Samantha's signficant other Don

Patrick Warburton played the title character in THE TIC.  It was a flop and was quickly canceled.

Good morning all.  I just wanted to ask for some of those famous vibes for my friend, Thelma.  Her husband, Bill, passed away last Thursday night.  I took today off so I can go to the funeral today.

I went to the viewing last night.  So sad but Thelma is a trooper and seems to be holding up.  I worry for her when this is all over and it sinks in.

Hope all is going well with all of you!

Hugs.

Vibes and prayers to DF Thelma!

Vibes and prayers to DR Danise!

When you are the only DR, and there is only 1 Guest; you always wonder if it is really a Guest, oe is it a DR who doesn't want to talk to you.
