OK, we're off to pick up my mother for her appointment at the same medical office that Richard and I visited this morning - bye for now!

I think my printer has had it, which is more than a little irritating.

Good morning all.  I just wanted to ask for some of those famous vibes for my friend, Thelma.  Her husband, Bill, passed away last Thursday night.  I took today off so I can go to the funeral today.

I went to the viewing last night.  So sad but Thelma is a trooper and seems to be holding up.  I worry for her when this is all over and it sinks in.

Hope all is going well with all of you!

Hugs.

Request for vibes. The minister at church, who has been there since the church opened more than 30 years ago and currently serves as associate minister, announced Sunday that he has been diagnosed with dementia. Needless to say, it was hard news to hear.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Richard and I both survived check-ups with our primary care physician this morning.  He says I have barotitis media, which is a fancy name for airplane ear.  My case is the result of flying with a sinus infection and may take another several weeks to subside.

About yesterday's blood test, he said, "It'll be all right..."

On the phone with Hewlett Packard.  Something has obviously gone awry - he thinks it's the print heads malfunctioning, so even though I had an extended warranty from Staples, that expired in August of last year.  So, new printer.  They gave me a much better deal than Staples would have, no tax, and comes with inks.  And free overnight shipping.  Pretty good.

BK, have you seen the new DVD release of the 1958 Norwegian horror film De dødes tjern (Lake of the Dead)? It is quite an enjoyable movie...very much like the B films coming out of Hollywood at that time.

Here is short clip of the film (minus the subtitels, which the dvd does have): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ePySdkSnVc

There are two DVDs avaible. One is from Sinister Cinema and is not anamorphic. The other is a region 2, which is anamorphic. I bought the Sinister Cinema DVD but will be upgrading as this is a film I will watch more than once.

New printer should be here tomorrow afternoon, with a three-year warranty.  Very nice fellow in the Philippines did the transaction and was very excited to be talking to the person who made The First Nudie Musical :)

Working on turning the master bedroom into the master "suite" and it's beginning to look a lot like my apartment I had during the dark months of 2011.  (the title of my next novel).

The tenants are probably moving to Washington where it is legal.

They were selling legal medical pot.  How much of it was legal and how much not I haven't a clue.

We have a couple of female ring-neck ducks in the pond.  They have been there all morning diving for weeds and occasionally sleeping.

Has anyone seen "Parker," the new Jason Statham movie? It's not what I usually go see, but Patti LuPone, Nick Nolte and Bobby Cannavale are all in the case and that makes it sound like fun.

DR Jane, I suggest you make an appointment with your local social security office and go in to see them with your medicare questions. I still don't understand it, and when I signed with my insurance company I told them I wanted to be covered on everything beyond Medicare coverage. That was fifteen months ago. Now they're sending me notices that I am not completely covered and my feeling is, essentially, WTF?

Sorry about the lack of coverage.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I may end up making a visit, after I learn as much as I can.  I suspect I never will truly understand it.

TOD:

JAMES BOND FILMS
MARNIE
MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS
THE ANDERSON TAPES
THE NAME OF THE ROSE

And whatever anyone else says.  I have never NOT enjoyed Sean Connery.  But these earlier ones are indeed favorites.

I was wondering if anyone would mention MARNIE. :)

I have a cold, which I'm not too happy about, but it is what it is.

Take care and don't fly on an airplane!

If you do use nose drops before take off & landing.
