What a day!

Good thoughts for both Danise and John.

Deb, hope the car repairs go well for you and the Vix family.

Good morning, all! I have absolutely no energy this morning. I'm suspecting it's the sleeping pills, so I think I will lay off for a few days and see if that perks me back up. The alarm went off at 6:45, and I stayed in bed until my patience wore thin, about twenty minutes ago. I'll make the bed, begin tallying my taxes, and accomplish some work here.

I have little else to report.

DR Jane, I suggest you make an appointment with your local social security office and go in to see them with your medicare questions. I still don't understand it, and when I signed with my insurance company I told them I wanted to be covered on everything beyond Medicare coverage. That was fifteen months ago. Now they're sending me notices that I am not completely covered and my feeling is, essentially, WTF? I believe it's an excuse to empty my pocket to line theirs.

Going out soon to see some laptops.  Oy!

If you're working with a Windows laptop you will most likely get Windows 8. If you find that you hate the new opening screen (which is made for a touch screen) you can look into downloading

Classic Shell

which will allow you to modify the OS so that it opens the old way and contains a Start Button.

Most, if not all laptops sold in Best Buy, Staples or Office Depot now come with Windows 8. You can get Windows 7 if you buy on line from Dell (I don't know about the other computer manufacturers) but store-bought PCs are Windows 8

Tuesday morning greetings!  Richard and I both survived check-ups with our primary care physician this morning.  He says I have barotitis media, which is a fancy name for airplane ear.  My case is the result of flying with a sinus infection and may take another several weeks to subside.

About yesterday's blood test, he said, "It'll be all right..."

I have not yet seen, although I have it on DVD, ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE, and I highly suspect it will be on my list of Sean Connery favorites once I watch it.

Request for vibes. The minister at church, who has been there since the church opened more than 30 years ago and currently serves as associate minister, announced Sunday that he has been diagnosed with dementia. Needless to say, it was hard news to hear.

DR JohnG, I missed this earlier and I apologize.

Hmmm... Even though the current season hasn't reached its conclusion on PBS, the third season of DOWNTON ABBEY is released on DVD and Blu-Ray today.  I am tempted, I am...

And many thanks to DR Ben for that critical reminder.  From what I've heard, Win8 must be avoided like the plague by all Good, Normal People.
