Britain is in a panic because horse meat is being discovered in various ready-made food products (a lasagne described as 100% beef was found to be 100% horse!) so I thought I'd make my own home made burgers. This is the result:
Off for a nap. It's been weird, but I stopped taking my decongestants yesterday and these past two days have been a sluggish blur. I think my body is craving the non-drowsy formula that it's not receiving.
There was a fun winter carnival at the park. My arms and shoulders are sore from pulling my niece on a sled thru the park. the park is huge.
As we were leaving we saw arriving for the second service one of our members with a severely disabled adult son in a wheelchair. She was struggling to get through the parking lot - the Vixter ran to help pull the wheelchair (pushing was not an option) and I ran into the church to get a shovel as I could see the path was not wide enough to get the chair through.As I was coming out of the church with the shovel in my hand a 14 year old boy was running up the path ,He asked for the shovel and ran back to start digging the path.So I went in and grabbed another shovel only to have one of the young fathers take it and run to join the diggingSo I went back and got the last shovel and managed to make one shovel full when I was also relieved of that by another young man.Then one of the cars stopped at the crosswalk and the driver jumped out and stopped traffic in both directions while he assisted with getting the wheelchair across the road It was nice seeing so many people jumping in to help without anyone needing to be asked
Then the snow plow came by and plowed us back in
Finished with the judging - my real choice didn't even make the top five - but the gal who won is every good and part of her win is to do one of the Kritzerland shows.
I just had a 1.5 hour long phone call with the Man From Philadelphia about tomorrow's interview. It was fun.
We had fish marinated in balsamic dressing, wild rice and peas.
I've been sick for 4 weeks now.So I just made 2 soups. Split pea and brussel sprout, and lentil and carrot. That should get me through the week.Healthy yes, will anyone else want to try them, maybe not.
