DR John G: is your oxtail REAL oxtail?

(Or am I getting too personal?)
It's from a cow. I bought into a grass-fed cow with some friends and I always ask for the oxtail.

I am just in awe of how much mucous one can actually blow out of their nose - continuously.  Jeez, does this stuff ever just go away.
Just like me yesterday with the drip that would never turn off. I didn't realize the nose could run and run and run.

Side by side photos of the cast of Downton Abbey in costume and how their modern day look.

Thanks, DR Jane! I enjoyed seeing the actors in their modern day photos.

I would not have recognized Hugh Bonneville.

Just spent the last three hours or so trimming back the roses. Lower back not happy, but the roses are. Or will be.

No sore back vibes for Laura

Getting ready to braise some oxtail for dinner.

where does one get an oxtail?  I have never seen one in the grocery store

I grew up eating oxtail stew.  After we were married I attempted to make it, put way too much barely in not understanding how barely expands. ;D

Funny :D :D

I'm thankful the vegan food Craig cooked tasted and looked far better than what they were cooking.

I got a kick of the addition to the soy milk.  Craig made delicious foods with it, or with almond milk, but I still can't drink the stuff plain.

I am painting the kitchen. And I am absolutely, positively "meh" about the color.

That happened to me with the room upstairs.  I did a sample over a big wall and now, months later, all I can think is  "What on earth was I thinking when I fell in love with that color?"

Sometimes when I get tired of the quote not showing I will quote something else.  As you can see from my previous post both quotes appear.

I do samples ever since the time I had to pull down 6 of the 42 rolls of wallpaper that just wasn't working.

After swimming today, which I thought would make it better, it was worse.  My upper back didn't like when I lifted my head to breathe while doing the breast stroke.

I used a few of the weights at the gym before swimming and only intended to swim for half an hour.  After ten minutes I found myself in a double lane all by myself.  What a treat!  I stayed in another 15 minutes & had to force myself to get out.

There is a helicopter hovering over the mountain. I guess on this beautiful evening, someone climbed up to watch the sunset and can't get down now that it is dark.

It is very strange, but the color varies depending on where you are in the kitchen -- whether you are looking toward the window with all the light or toward the other side where it is darker. I never noticed that with the blue. Or the previous wallpaper.

I'm trying to watch the episode of "Mad Men" where time shifts in the storytelling. But I keep getting interrupted with phone calls, food timers, etc., so it's making everything even more confusing.

It appears that Mae-Ling Goldstein has quite a crush on Brent Barrett.

So this morning we went to our local IHOP for breakfast - we have been going to the same one for years and the manager is lovely -she always comes and chats with us.  Today she asked what was new and I told her that we were having a candidate for Associate pastor preaching today and tomorrow and that we were having a little reception for her this evening   She said - you know if you ever need any sort of donation for the church... a door prize or something we would be happy to help

"Funny you should say that" , I replied  " It just so happens we are having a chili cook off as a youth ministry  fundraiser next Saturday and we need door prizes."  She asked how many people we expected and I told her about 100 and she said hold on and  went off and came back with FOUR $20 gift certificates!  Wasn't that  generous of her?

I guess it's better she learn at a young age about heartbreak and frustration.
