Monday morning greetings!  We have to be at the church in a couple of hours, but at least I got to sleep until the time we would have had to leave home.  Thank you, Fairfield Inn!

It's only 17 degrees right now. It may get up into the 30s but there is no snow.

We are getting our taxes done this afternoon.

I used to do my taxes separately but because we got married in 2012 we need to file Married in New York State. To do that we need to fill out a Married Federal form, but not file it because the Federal Government is F****d Up when it comes to recognizing SSM. We then have to transfer those numbers to the NY State form. Then we have to re-do our federal tax forms, filling them out as Single and filing them and then go back and file the NY State forms with the married numbers. Stupidity at a whole new level, but I'm still glad I got married!!!

Good morning, all! Yesterday became a difficult day after a pleasant morning. Rosemary Ashe is out, and the Man from Philadelphia is working my last nerve on casting this role. I'm hoping this can be resolved very soon. And pleasantly.  Right now I'm dealing with someone who wouldn't know a bass from a soprano and he's making things difficult.

This morning, I am heading down to Toyland for some work and some research. I need to listen to the various recordings of ROBERTA and check keys, then I hope some more work comes in from the copyists. We have two weeks to finish the first draft of this score, and I'm getting tired of waiting for copy.

DR George, before my friend David Garrison was on MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, DR Ginny and I had seen him play Snoopy in the Grossman-Hackaday musical SNOOPY, and he'd been one of Harvey Fierstein's replacements in TORCH SONG TRILOGY.

I, too, knew WHAT was going to happen in last night's DOWNTON episode, but not HOW.  Kept hoping I'd read wrong...

Besides listening to Laura and Who's Got the Action yesterday.

Also listened to Pink Martini and Henry Mancini this weekend.

With walking and music, my weekend was good.

No housework.

TOD:

Any cherry-flavored cough drop was fine with me, whether it was Halls or Smith Brothers or whoever.

I enjoy Frank Garrison's recordings of older musicals, such as the McGlinn "Show Boat" recording or BK's own "You Never Know." Glad I got to see him in "Titanic."

Good morning, all.

Yesterday was long and not without stress, but in spite of how dead tired I was, I had a solid sleep and actually woke at 6:30 a.m. ... feeling fine.  Weird.  But I'll try for a nap later so as not to be tired at rehearsal this evening.

For now, coffee.  Blessed coffee.

TOD:

#1 favorite for all time:  Luden's honey licorice.  But I also loved Smith Brothers black licorice, and cherry from either of them.

At some point in junior high school, several of us kids decided cough drops were the THING, man, and we made sure we had plenty to snack on in classes.  I think they actually sold them at a little school commissary or some such.

I wanted to type "wild cherry" above.  Were they called that?  Anyway, I don't even remember what the other flavors were.  Or other brands.  I think we had Vicks which was okay but a little too medicine-y?  Hall's came later for me.  And now the Luden's etc. are called "throat drops", aren't they?  Sad, and silly.

I read it in an article that was from the UK right after the episode aired there.  I do think they've set up all sorts of interesting possibilities for season 4 and I'm wondering if they will pick up immiediately after they left off or if they will skip into the futurea bit
