Will have to think about the TOD. Especially the food one. I can, however, say I miss Roquefort Dressing for all of those who indulge. I don't happen to be one of them, though I often wish I was. It's a wonderful name and, I'm sure, a wonderful culinary tradition. I've even checked in the supermarkets and NOTHING goes by that name any more. Isn't that insane? How does such a classy name disappear like that?

Here's a question right back at BK: Is "Roquefort" but a memory at all of the jernts you frequent nowadays? At Musso and Frank? How about Joe Allen? I think it needs to be brought back, by a restaurateur who can listen to reason, and who gets it.

As far as I know there is no restaurant in LA that serves roquefort dressing - although some research may be in order.

Nope - a simple Google search tells the reason no one serves it anymore - you can thank the United States government as we can for so many stupid things: In 1999 they raised the tariff on Roquefort and other imported foods from Europe 100% because Europe refused to buy hormone injected beef from the US. End of Roquefort dressing because a pound of Roquefort cheese costs around fifty bucks to get here. Bravo US. Perhaps they should think about reversing the tariff. There also seems to be some question whether restaurants actually used real Roquefort cheese, but I'm here to tell you they did. There was a big difference between Bleu and Roquefort.

I totally agree with you about the show last night. BORING!

However, I did enjoy the numbers from LES MISERABLES and CHICAGO.

Much of the humor was in bad taste...and, worst of all, not amusing.

The funniest line of the night was Daniel Day-Lewis' Margaret Thatcher quip.

I got a nice new valet caddy that holds all of my rings and my billfold and my coins....plus it has a nice lift up lid compartment.....if I ever need that. It was $4.99 at Goodwill (Target overstock still in the box) - and that put me at $25.....so with my Rewards Card...it was FREE!!

I gave up on the Oscars at about 10:00, right after Anne picked up her award. I didn't think it was a horrible show but there wasn't enough going on that warranted missing a good night's sleep before a Monday. While I found a good deal of Seth McFarland's material funny (the Von Trapp Family bit actually made me laugh out loud), I don't understand why he needed to occasionally go so tasteless. He also has a wide misogynistic streak.

I agree with BK that the highlight of the evening was Shirley Bassey knocking "Goldfinger" out of the park. And yet, who gets a standing ovation?--Jennifer Hudson with her overamplified, autotuned and underwhelming "And I Am Telling You". Feh!

Low point (aside from the Lincoln joke) was Paul Rudd and Mary McCarthy doing God-knows-what they think they were doing. I agree with Rex Reed on McCarthy--the woman's only schtick is her weight.
