Hi all,

I hope that everyone is doing well.

I just wanted to let you all know that the sink hole your hearing about is within about 5 miles of me  but the dogs and I are fine.

The tornado that hit in downtown Tampa this week was close to where I work.  I could have seen it out of the office window but didn't know about it  until I got home from work.

Hard to believe it was a year ago to day that I was on the AC show.  I posted on AC's show Facebook page that it's been a year and I have no photos to share because nothing has been done.  I think that Angies List had good intentions but just didn't have the money or manpower to really do anything.  I can't understand for the life of me why they would go on national TV and say they were going to help someone and then not do it.  I can kind of understand about the room for washer and drier but when I went on the show the focus was the kitchen.  It doesn't make sense that they didn't have a plan in place to at least do that.

Work is wonderful again.  I'm finely away from that horrible boss.  It's so nice to be in with a group of humans who laugh and talk to one another.  The day goes by so fast--and we still get our work done.  Wonderful sigh~

We are all glad to hear you are ok. So sad about your house, though. I guess Angie's List got the good publicity at the time, even though nothing ever came of it.

Another odd story about justice in Phoenix today:
http://www.azfamily.com/news/Alleged-naked-carjacker-withdraws-plea-deal--194400541.html

They withdrew the plea deal because a couple of the VICTIMS had prior felonies?

DR Laura, when the media got intereted in Jodi Arias, she said it was two people who broke into the house, killed Travis and she escaped with her life but didn't kill him.  It was much more interesting then.  That was the 48 hours story and the Inside Edition story.  Then she won Sheriff Joe's Jail House Idol.  It wasn't until fairly recently that her defense changed to self defense. By then they were all following the story.  That's my best guess.  Now she's a fascinating sociopath

Seffner, which I fortunately missed when I first read the story.  He was south of DR Danise.

That means north of Dr ArnoldBrockman and myself. :-)

That is a sad story and oh so strange.

Sorry, not far south, just south of her house in Seffner.

Oh the excitement of Arizona criminal law, lol.  It can effect the credibility of a witness.  Probably won't make a difference in the end but who knows.

We did not like THE THIRD MAN and I found the music extremely annoying.

You may have seen the recut American version. I think the British version is the better cut. But if one doesn't like the movie it won't matter which version you saw

If that were the case I wish I had been told it was the recut version.  If so, maybe that is why I found so many holes in the script.

And interesting side note about the Third Man

There was a radio series that starred the villain of the story and made him a hero.

Won't mention who it is in case someone wants to see the film.

Because of that I was kind of expecting a hero instead of a villain.

Thanks, Cillaliz. I guess I vaguely remember hearing about her case back when it happened. Didn't seem too plausible to me at the time. I didn't follow anything about it until it became big news here. In fact, it seems like it ONLY became big news here because it was picked up nationally.

In the second case -- there were apparently LOTS of witnesses. Several accidents and video, for heaven's sake.

We are all glad to hear you are ok. So sad about your house, though. I guess Angie's List got the good publicity at the time, even though nothing ever came of it.

Thanks.  I know--it was really hard over Christmas when I had people asking me how I was enjoying the new kitchen and W/D and when I said I never got either that they felt so sorry for me because I got used.  I had one guy that stopped by my desk every day and asked if Angie's List had started on my house yet.  It was funny at first (I kept saying soon) and then as the year went by it stopped being funny.  Then the AC jokes started about how he's a reporter that couldn't follow up on a story from his own show.

It's gotten to point where I'm just embarrassed.  I feel like such a fool and I've run out of excuses for why nothing started.  I can only agree with what  everyone else says about it.  Turner got what he wanted (my money), Angies List got the publicity and the AC show got a feel good moment for their show.  If Frigidare hadn't come though with the money, I wouldn't have gotten a thing out of it.  And even then it wasn't what I was told.

They said they would pay the taxes on the  money but when I had my takes done the other night, it turns out they didn't.  If I didn't claim zero and have ten dollars out of each check, I would have been hung with an unexpected two thousand dollar tax bill.  As it is my total return is twelve dollars.

I hope a lot of people post comments on it.

I watched the show last night to hear what was said and AC clearly said he was going to following up and make sure things were done.

After  you went on the show everyone thought something would happen.  Don't be embarrassed about it.  I'm glad you didn't get hit with a big tax bill.

Danise, you have nothing to be embarrassed about.  They should make it right.  Maybe you need a lawyer to help you. I'm actually serious about that.

I don't think one would help, you know they make you sign those papers before you go on the show that they aren't responsible, etc.  I just feel like people should know that what you are promised on tv doesn't always happen.  It really does make me wonder when you see a story like mine and there's at big "moment" where the person is told they are going to get help if it really happens.  Unless they do a follow up, how would you know and you think the world of the people that made the promise.  Isn't that company/tv show  wonderful for helping that person?  But did they?

How many times does something like this happen?

I forgot that's where you are, DR Laura.  There is a big Sci Fi con that is going to have many of the Babylon 5 cast there in May.  I was kicking around the idea of going until the tax thing happened.

I found the basketball game on tv!!!  It's the Midgets vs the Knights. Sounds like something out of the Hobbit
