Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland's thirty-first show, and now it is time for you to post until the thirty-one cows come home.

Congrats to BK and Cast on the latest Kritzerland show!

It might not have been perfect, but it sounds like it was still pretty darned good.

Yesterday, I stayed home most of the day and watched TV...a couple of episodes of "Antiques Roadshow" and quite a bit on the Creative Arts Showcase channel.  I recorded what amounts to about a couple of hours of random stuff and will put that on a DVD. :)

In the afternoon, I got a call from my friend Margo, asking if I wanted to meet with her, her daughter and a mutual friend for dinner.  I said, "Sure!"  We went to a new Mexican restaurant, and the food was good.  The service was good, too...not "great," but good.  The space was a little weird.  It was just one big open room that held about a dozen or so tables and a big open area at the entrance.  Just an unusual space.

After that, Margo and I went to see "Argo."  We both loved it.  I came home and just ordered the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack!  I know that my dad will love it (he's a history buff and I'm sure that he remembers the publicly known incidents).  He doesn't go to movies in the theater anymore, so I'm going to give him the DVD and I'll keep the Blu-ray.

But before I go, this was Yesterday's Topic of the Day (Opening Numbers):

Opening numbers from shows that I've either seen or been in:
The Brain from Planet X (I was in the Olympia premiere production! ;))
Cabaret
Carnival (I played Jacquot in a local production)
Cats
Chicago
A Chorus Line
Company
The Fantasticks
Fiddler on the Roof
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (I played Hero)
Into The Woods
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat
The Music Man
Once on This Island
Pippin
The Rocky Horror Show
Sweeney Todd
Thoroughly Modern Millie

Opening numbers that I only know from recordings:
Ragtime
Brownstone
Putting It Together ("Invocation and Instructions to the Audience"/"Putting It Together") [the Julie Andrews version]
Saturday Night

That's all I can think of right now.

Congrats on the show working out despite the vibes in the house, BK.

Good morning, all!

Last night, I watched the first disc of the wonderful BBC production of HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY. It's been quite some time since I'd seen the MGM film that I hd no problem seeing the thin Sian Philips instead of the more rotund Sarah Allgood as Beth Morgan. The only actor besids Miss Philips that I recognized was Jeremy Clyde (of the group Chad and Jeremy) as the odious Iestyn Evans, who marries Angharrad - instead of the minister she loves - and treats her horribly. Since the series is six hours long, it's much more faithful to the novel, and I'm really enjoying it.

So I went to bed around midnight to be awakened by the very noisy arrival home of the neighbor above me around 2:00am. It sounded from all the bumping, thumping and heated discussionbits I could hear that both the Sharks and Jets were set to rumble above me, and this continued for about 30 minutes before I difyed back to sleep. I remember that Eartha Kitt appeared in on of my dreams and the Clancy Brothers in the last ne.

In 15 minutes or so, I'll have the laundry in the washers, and then I'll begin to tidy up here. I've got several hours with the libretto for ROBERTA and then I'll watch the second disc of the BBC series.

I apologize if I'm being picky, but:

Just to keep the record straight: HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY was produced by 20th Century-Fox, not MGM.

DR Elmore, you might have actually heard the Sharks and Jets among the other cacophony, as TCM was playing West Side Story late last night.

Oy!  That was quite the report on the Kritzerland show.  Sorry to hear about the strange energy and vibes, and the flubs.  I guess a lot of us know what an "off" evening feels like, how the odds are that it's bound to happen once in a while.  So, while on the one hand, it seems that most of the Kritzerland shows come off as close to perfection as could ever be hoped, it can also be that fate or the universe or something is bound to eventually let you down on one.  You just don't want it to be THAT one -- which of course we would say about any of them -- but the Billy Barnes one had to be just a little more special than some of the others...which are also special.  So, I say again, Oy!

Hmmmm?  The neighbor above me is weird: hecomes in pn week nights around 9:00-10:30pm, rises about 8:00amwith a huge flurry o noise to get wherever on yime and I never hear other sounds from the apartment, particularly of a tv or music . Ever!  Perhaps they had been watching WSS before arriving?

I miss my first neighbor Eric andhis sister Lisa. They were great neighbors. then came the Canadian oaf with the barking dog, then the bartender who generally got home so late that I never heard him, and now this couple: he's single but his girlfriend stays over a lot.

Good morning all.

I'm watching them tear down the sink hole house on tv while at the same time listening to the helicopters live out side.  It is heart breaking.

I had another heart breaking situation to deal with this morning as well--when I went into the front yard I noticed  buzzards around "something" in the road.  I chased them and it was a yellow cat.  Not to put to fine a point on it, it was awful to look at.  I have no idea whose cat it was but I couldn't leave it like that so I ran and got a shovel and buried it in the back yard.  Poor thing.  I didn't hear anything but when I'm sleeping, nothing wakes me up.  That was always a joke but with this sink hole, it's not so funny.

No snow.  They said there was snow way up about 1500 feet but it didn't make it down to ground level.

Interesting to read about the KRITZERLAND show last night....hmmmmm.....must be the Saturday vibe at the Federal....and of course we are in Mercury retrograde, so weird things are bound to happen until March 17.

Glad to hear the Jackie Joseph Lawrence was there.  Hope someone took photos! Jackie lives in Toluca Lake, so she may be at SHIRLEY VALENTINE today....who knows?

Maybe if you do another Ashman/Menken show, Jackie can sing "Somewhere That's Green."

MR BK did you get to talk to Jackie?

The thought of Jackie Joseph and Joanne Worley in the same room makes me smile....no...it makes me laugh.

Did Joanne spin her beads around her neck?
