Good morning, all!
Last night, I watched the first disc of the wonderful BBC production of HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY. It's been quite some time since I'd seen the MGM film that I hd no problem seeing the thin Sian Philips instead of the more rotund Sarah Allgood as Beth Morgan. The only actor besids Miss Philips that I recognized was Jeremy Clyde (of the group Chad and Jeremy) as the odious Iestyn Evans, who marries Angharrad - instead of the minister she loves - and treats her horribly. Since the series is six hours long, it's much more faithful to the novel, and I'm really enjoying it.
So I went to bed around midnight to be awakened by the very noisy arrival home of the neighbor above me around 2:00am. It sounded from all the bumping, thumping and heated discussionbits I could hear that both the Sharks and Jets were set to rumble above me, and this continued for about 30 minutes before I difyed back to sleep. I remember that Eartha Kitt appeared in on of my dreams and the Clancy Brothers in the last ne.
In 15 minutes or so, I'll have the laundry in the washers, and then I'll begin to tidy up here. I've got several hours with the libretto for ROBERTA and then I'll watch the second disc of the BBC series.
