Oh, I forgot to tell you:

Proceeds from the book sale = $10, 867.05!

Even after expenses, that will mean a lot of scholarships!

Congrats, Ginny!  That's great!

Oh, FJL, I am so sorry for the difficulties you have been going through. I knew you were going through something, but did not know what it was. Vibes for you to keep your sanity and health!

And glad you are back posting more regularly, also!

Topic of the Day:

I'm not a particular fan of ballet on its own, so I haven't seen many ballets live.  My sister's boyfriend had tickets for Pacific Ballet Northwest in Seattle, and my sister couldn't go, so I went.  It was very good.  It was three different short ballets, but I don't remember more than that.

Several ballet/dance groups have come to Olympia on tour that I've ushered for...all have been very, very good:

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo
Mark Morris Dance Group
Pilobolus

These are the ones that I can specifically remember seeing and very muchly enjoying. :D

Back from the Apple Store with not great news.  New hard drive because there was a recall on mine nine months ago and no one at any point has ever let me know that.  This is very scary to me because that will completely empty my computer of all data.  Then when I get back I have to start it up and click restore from Time Machine and if Time Machine has been doing its backups properly then everything should be just as it was.  But I'll be very nervous until I do that next Sunday.

Now I'm trying to get my printer on this laptop but it says it's been configuring for ten minutes and that can't be right.

Good morning, all! The neighbor above me did not arrive home until around 7am this morning. That means that once I turned out the lights at 10 at night, i slept quite well.

That's great!

Back from a three-mile jog.  I didn't receive my airline e-mail to check in so I went to the site and did so.  Then I called them and asked them why the e-mail hadn't arrived.  I talked to one of the most ignorant people ever, and pity the people who try to make a reservation with her.  I asked and she looked at my file and said I'd received the e-mail on March 6.  I explained that was the confirmation e-mail and I was talking about the check-in e-mail for my flight.  Then she said they don't send those e-mails, that we're just supposed to go to the site to do that.  I expressed disbelief and said I have never not gotten that e-mail before a flight.  She then asked if it had gone into my spam folder at which point I should have asked for a supervisor.  I said I don't have a spam folder for that account.  Then she asked if it had arrived while we were talking - I told her no, at which point she said again that they don't send them out.  I thought I was hearing a Pinter play by that point.  Of course, when I got home from the jog, there it was.

This sounds like a comedy routine.

I went to Amoeba Records last night in SF, found some cool stuff, but I, too, miss browsing through CD's, records, etc... the art is lost :(

In the last two days there have been tons of various dog food & dog treat recalls I suggest whatever you feed your dog, check if it has been recalled.
