Great seafood photo. I'm hungry again. And it's been 13 hours since I had Chinese food!

You must be wasting away, DR John G.!
Positively suffering.

For those who might not know, Ebirah is the monster that Godzilla fights in the movie SON OF GODZILLA.

That looks quite distressing. I do think that the American Humane Association should take a closer look into whether these creatures are harmed during the filming of such scenes.

Well, our day didn't unfold quite the way we set out.  I was finished at the podiatrist's at 10:15, too early for brunch.  We made a couple of stops and came on home.  I got out the Easter decorations and read for a while.  Then we went back out for lunch at Chipotle and a couple more errands.  Our house and front door are now decorated for Easter and guess what we saw when we were out - snowflakes!

Okay, let's see if this works:

(I smallerized the picture a bit)

Yikes!  Is that really one serving...for one person??  And ALL of that's really only 320 calories??

But then, according to THIS website, lobster is only 27 calories an ounce, so maybe.  It just looks like a LOT of food (none of which I'd touch. :P)

Metronome markings finished, thanks to the mighty Peter Foley, I am home and waiting for Mac Mechanix to show up and help clean up this computer mess!

I just read that actor Harry Reems died of kidney failure at age 65.

I think I am the only person in the world who has yet to see his film DEEP THROAT.

ASK BK

Have you ever done the touristy stuff while in DC? Gone to the White House?

No - when I was here in 1988 it was only for a day and I was working.  We were downtown, and, interestingly, I ate at the downtown Capital Grille back then - so, two meals at Capital Grilles, and maybe a third this evening with Lanny.

Ask BK:

So, you like the calorie counts on the menu. Is that the first time you've seen those? Do you think you'd pay attention to them every time you dined out?

I ask because a friend of mine was raving with delight when she first went to New York because the nutritional info was there on her menu. By the third meal, though, she just wanted to order what she wanted and not be told how potentially bad it was for her.

I think that it's great if they have the calorie count. But i don't think it should be on the main menu. There should be a section in the back.

It is on the back of the menu - and not in the main part.

Yep, 320 calories for all that seafood - shellfish and cocktail sauce is about as diet as you can get.  I may have the salmon this evening or steak Oscar - both are under seven hundred calories.  And maybe a cup of clam chowder with it, that's another 250.  I've only had some fruit today.

We had a very productive work session - mostly to do with the upcoming CD - we now have all but two songs chosen.  I did some good arrangement work with Lanny and all the layouts are done.

I love the National Gallery in D.C. - I saw a Leonardo da Vinci painting there in 1999 or so.

This is the most progressive activity that has taken place in Washington D.C. in the last 25 years.

Hi all!

I had to stop by to let you all know the news.  For once things seem to be going well for me.

I've been going back and forth about the tax situation and it turns out that Lo and Behold, I was right about them telling me that they would pay them.   I should be receiving a check to cover them any time now.  :)

Then there is the 2nd big news--the guy (named Sergio but not the same guy) just left a little while ago after coming to measure the kitchen.  Maybe the 6th time will be the charm because he said that when he gives his word something will be done, it is.  Add to that I was told that I will have GRANITE countertops.  That is more than I could hope for.

I hate to say how excited I am because if it doesn't happen, I don't think I can take the let down again.

My Mac Mechanix man just left; my email is saved along with my address book, I have Microsoft Office 2011 installed, and I am up and running again. Big sigh of relief!

We are going out again soon to hear our friend Sam give a historical lecture about the 1913 flood.  Seems like just yesterday I was helping with 90th anniversary programs at the library and here we are observing the centennial!
