Thanks for the shoulder vibes. It was really bad last night (the worst it's ever been).  I heated, iced, heated. I tried a big pillow at the side of the bed. I think it helped a bit. I tried to hold my shoulder while I get out of bed.

It still hurts. But better than yesterday.  Does anyone have anything else you can do? Are ice and heat even the right things to do?

DR Cillaliz, from your post last night it sounded like your former facebook friend/relative has been posting pics of her and her new boyfriend on facebook??  If that is true then that is the tackiest thing I've heard.

One of my favorite lines/stories  by the great lyricist Ellen Fitzhugh, who wrote the wonderful "Herringbone" with Tom cone and Skip and the beautiful "Los Otros" with Michael john LaChiusa, and I've talked about teh joy of "Paper Moon" which she wrote with Larry Grossman at the Walnut:

She and Larry Grossmanwere writing additional material for a musical for Anthony Newley, and at one point were being asked to do something in the style of Newley and Bricusse, and Ellen - always great with a quip - had a great line which apparently got everybody laughing:  Well, Larry and i can't really just write "What Kind of Fool Can i Turn To"

(BTW, HERRINGBONE CD should be out in the next few months. B.D. Wong emailed Skip, says the mastering was delayed due to unexpected work and everyone's volunteering their time, but should be soon.)

Monday morning greetings!  It's so nice to be home with a quiet week ahead of me.  Maybe I'll finally get my new (to me) bookcase moved into my Momcave from the garage!

We lost that one to City Opera. I will be happy to find one I feel is more than adequate.

I think you're being too literal on one level.

But before I go...BK (and anyone else interested), Florence Henderson had done that version of "When You're Good to Mama" in 2003...and someone posted it on YouTube in 2006!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD156wvOvSg

She's hysterical!! ;D

I agree.

And wouldn't you know it? The one that just fell by the wayside has the full approval of the Man from Philadelphia, who thinks he's perfect for the role! Damage Control! Paging Damage Control!

TOD - "Nothing Can Stop Me Now" was kind of my anthem in the early '70s, from the time I was accepted into grad school through landing a great first professional position as a librarian.

Nobody's mentioned Newley's OH, WHAT A SON OF A BITCH I AM or I'M ALL I NEED, both from Can Hieronymous Merkin...Both selections that might be good for Guy Haines' next album.
