And the morning phone call from Chicago from one possibility hasn't occurred!

Damnation.

The actor who's in Chicago would like to do it. It all depends now on the Man from Philadelphia and the progress of the show in Chicago.

Chas Smith - catching up and read about your vet - so sorry to hear that sad news

DR ChasSmith - Yes, sorry to hear that. The vet I visit also died a few months ago after a short illness. He was only 60 and was a wonderful, kind man. There was a tribute to him in the local paper and the veterinary practice was overwhelmed with messages of condolences. I'd been visiting him with my pets for over 20 years and will miss seeing him.

Just read that Margaret Thatcher died.

I heard the news on my way back from lunch. Not unexpected but it still came as a shock. Regardless as to one's political views, she was a monumental figure in British politics. The TV news here is reporting nothing else.

I would imagine. The same happened the last time we lost a former president, which, if my memory is correct, was Ronald Reagan.

Best part of the weekend was attending my firs Holi festival which is put on by the local Inda-US organization here in Salem.

My former neighbor here in the apartment complex is the president of the group and he invited me to volunteer this year. I, along with two other guys, were in charge of greeting the guests and taking their food (there was a potluck) to the food table where it was labeled vegetarian or non-vegetarian (as many Indians are vegetarian).

It was a great time and I met some really nice people. A few of the residents here at my apartment complex attended as well, which was fun.

Along with the food and social aspect, there was plenty of entertainment! It really was just like in the Bollywood movies!! So of course I was in heaven.

Here is one of he highlights: My former neighbor and his wife performing a musical number from the film LAGAAN.

She has studied classic dance for many years and this was the first time he had ever danced. She taught him this routine in just a few days. I think he did pretty dang good!

For best effect make the video full screen!

I know what you mean about the UPS package.  I sometimes order from QVC then forget what I ordered.

VIBES that DR ELMORE'S Leading Man Tsuris resolves itself - in a good way, and sooner rather than later.

Someone had told me last night that Florence had done the number back a decade ago and again once after that.  But here's all I can tell you having watched the video clip posted here - on Saturday the number was tighter, much funnier, and much lewder, with slightly different choreography.  But even in the 2003 video it's great - but her at seventy-nine doing it was just fall out of your chair funny.
