Found this to be too good a laugh not to share.

Turnips.

Turnips are tubers.

I have eaten turnips.

I prefer turnip greens (love 'em, actually).

The turnip, itself, does nothing for me, but it's nutritious.  My mother used to cook turnips until they had a consistency like grits or farina.  The taste is not repulsive, but it is also not yummy (to me).  Still, I've occasionally had diced (in tiny cubes) turnips mixed in with greens and they are just fine that way.

It's Friday here in Oakland.

What day is it where YOU are?

Wow! The office delivery occurred about 15 minutes ago, and the Fed Ex pickup just occurred. My day here is finished, so I'll work for a bit on the vocal score before I head home.

TOD

Lots this week to make up for nothing last week

CD

VERTIGO - French Milan reissue of the original Mercury album
HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY - Certainly a very worthwhile sound quality upgrade over the Arista CD.

Blu-ray

SCHINDLER’S LIST
THE HOBBIT 3D
SUNSET BOULEVARD
SHIP OF FOOLS/LILITH
ACCIDENT - I’ve been really looking forward to this restoration of Joseph Losey’s 1967 masterwork. A fascinating film of great subtlety and understatement which I loved when it was first released. The photography is splendid and this restoration at last makes the film look much as it did in 35mm.

An incredible film!  Well, there's another one I've got to order.

Friday morning greetings!  We are waiting for the window washers.  We've taken down all the curtains and I'm washing the ones that can be.  The downstairs ones that aren't washable are in the dryer on "air only" to get the dust out.  The upstairs ones are going to the dry cleaners.  Of course, since the window crew will also install our screens, the weather has turned cold and blustery  ::)

TCB, Amazon gives you Aesop's Fables as a freebie when you download the Kindle App (maybe so that your bookshelf won't be empty?) I also got a dictionary when I downloaded it. I only took the damn app because there are some books that are not available on Sony (my e-reader is a Sony) and I'm not buying a Kindle just to get more books. I now have the 2 books that I wanted and all is well.

Thank you, Ben, I was very confused.  And I think I also got a dictionary.

DR TCB, I considered typing out the cast list of PETER PAN for you -- but for all the effort involved, there probably wouldn't be anybody you ever heard of.

No, probably not.

The window boss is here and his crew is on the way.  And, so far, none of our curtains have disintegrated in the washer or dryer!

I can post photos later, but not of the filth.  Too late for that.  I didn't even document it for my own viewing enjoyment in my twilight years.

I'm up - barely.  I think I got about an hour of sleep initially, then woke up around three-thirty, then fell back asleep around four.

Hello Everyone:

Bk, Did you do the background music for" How Green Is my Valley"?  It is another favorite of mine.  It also was my Aunt Betty's favorite.

TOD:

First, my sneak peek at Demy's THE PIED PIPER makes me wonder just how enjoyable this one's going to be.  I think it's one of those you have to be patient and watch, and endure, and then if it's going to make itself likable to you, it will.  So, that will sit on the shelf till the time is right, and tonight will be (drum roll, please)....

DVD - Demy's BAY OF ANGELS

In the meantime,

CD - BK's PETER PAN album
BLU - THE YOUNG GIRLS OF ROCHEFORT (probably save it till tomorrow night when I'll be here, free, no distractions)
VCR - UMBRELLAS is still in there, might review it a bit.  Naturally, the apparently out-of-print DVD has just gone bonkers on Amazon, now that I want it.
