DR Cilla I'm sorry about the cookie dough mess.  I didn't think of it dripping.

I apologize in advance if this question is insulting, but did you grease the pan first?

Ok, the cookie thing sort of worked.  I got one out of four to come off the pan as a bowl.  I think with a lot less dough and a little more practice I could actually make it work.

Please let me know when you figure it out.

About those cookie cups.... I read the following:
"If your cookies are melting into the bottom of the pan before they're done, then you're using the wrong 'fat'. You must use a fat with a higher melting temperature. Butter is very low and produces flat cookies. Vegi shortening ("Crisco") should work better."

And this:
" you gotta make the dough thick, use less liquid and don't put the dough to the bottom of the pan just about half way because it melts down, and put lots on the top"

And the full recipe:

There's an actress here in Austin who wants to stage a production of my play, LOMBARD, with me directing.

We went to look at a theater the other day, and the play would work very well there.

I think she would be quite good in the role.

Now, all she has to do is raise the budget.

 :-\

Good luck this happens!

Cleaning up the laundry room for the delivery of the machines in a couple of hours.

And, so far, none of our curtains have disintegrated in the washer or dryer!

That's good. :)

There was an article in the paper here today about the new baseball/Jackie Robinson movie.  They expressed disappointment that his time in Montreal was not even really mentioned. That is a shame since he was a big deal here.  The writer thought that maybe it was because people in Montreal loved him so much. And it wouldn't have fit with the theme of the movie/ all the problems he had in the US.  Still sad. I was really looking forward to seeing that part of the movie.

It is, but I'm appalled at the dust that accumulates in the dryer lint trap with each set of curtains  :P

I agree that is a shame his time there wasn't mentioned, especially if life there was easier for him.

Maybe someone in Canada needs to make a movie about the "missing years" of his story. ;)

Friday morning greetings!  We are waiting for the window washers.  We've taken down all the curtains and I'm washing the ones that can be.  The downstairs ones that aren't washable are in the dryer on "air only" to get the dust out.  The upstairs ones are going to the dry cleaners.  Of course, since the window crew will also install our screens, the weather has turned cold and blustery  ::)

You mean you're supposed to wash curtains??

So, it seems, has Jonathan Winters.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2013/04/12/comedian-jonathan-winters-dies-at-age-87/2077723/

Connie from A Chorus Line said " WAS NEVER GONNA BE MARIA TALLCHIEF. I WAS JUST....
This peanut on pointe! That was my whole trip -- my size. It still is. God, my last show I was thirty-two and I played a fourteen-year-old brat...."

There was a Jackie Robinson statue in Montreal,  at the white elephant called the Olympic Stadium but somewhere along the way it was removed and has disappeared.

Here are two links to some video I shot from my parents apartment today. One from this morning and one from this afternoon. It was supposed to have eased up by now but it hasn't.

I put some music so it won't be to boring

My father saw Jackie Robinson play here. He also saw Sammy Davis and Harry Belafonte and Lena Horne who were received here in Montreal with open arms.
