First again?

But I think I know why this time.  This site ain't a-movin' this morning.  It's taking me about a minute to display each page in the discussion board area.  My first time to experience this.

Good morning, all.

A strange night of sleep and other things...the other things being spam calls on my cell phone, for which I had to start learning how to block them, or shut the phone down for the night.  I can't believe this function isn't built into the phone, but you apparently have to download one of any number (a huge number) of apps.  I took one I saw recommended in a few different places, and so far, all seems to be well.  Will check that out thoroughly today, probably stopping by the Verizon store to make sure I understand all of this correctly.  Oy!

Coffee!

Good morning, all! I had too many weird dreams, populated with folk of whom I am not too fond, so they were all rather tense dreams last night, and the last one had something to do with one of my goddaughters, summer theatre, and a production whose title I have forgotten since I woke at 7:00am.

Yesterday afternoon I watched Danny deVito's film of MATILDA, which I'd not seen in about 10 years. I laughed quite a bit. I am apathetic about the musical version; how can anyone replace Pam Ferris as Miss Trunchbull, Olympic javelin thrower? Then, last night I watched the 1980s BBC version of NORTHANGER ABBEY with Peter Firth. It had good moments, including some gothic fantasy sequences that were both frightening and funny, but a very strange ending, which seemed to make the book's finish another fantasy sequence. I think today, if nothing else comes up, I'll watch the 2007 BBC version.

I may see my friend Bruce Pomahac today, depending on his schedule. Otherwise, the day is open to whatever.

Thanx to DR VIXMOM for the wonderful PIPPIN photos and the link!  And of course for the PIPPIN report.  For some reason, I wanted to hear it last night, so I played my OBC CD.

And yes, congrats to DR CILLA LIZ on her selection!!!

Nicky is such a pretty cat!

Today is the day that I go see THE HERBAL BED.  I know I will enjoy seeing my friends.....I am not too sure about the play, but the Director isn't one to make crazy choices, so it must have some merit.

I know DR ELMORE said he enjoyed the play in London....so that makes me more comfortable about what I am going to see.

Today's notes' title is so appropriate for me last night

as I and among many other in the plane I was in and the plane the almost hit us could have recreated that scene from the movie where Joe meets Mr. Jordan or perhaps from the movie Millennium from 1989 (Where we would survive but sometime in the future)

The plane had just descend to 998ft and the plane's engines started to rev and we started a rapid climb. I told the flight attendants sitting two row in front me that's not good. They looked out the window and could see the other plane. I looked out and saw it too. It was out there just a little to close for comfort. I'm glad the pilot was on his game and not wanting just to land the plane as we were already behind schedule.

We climbed to over 3000ft and circled around a bit before we may our successful second attempt to land.

One of the flight attended tried to make light it and was actually reading from an prepared script (I could see her doing it) because instead of saying Fort Lauderdale she said Orlando. She made light of this gaff.

Once the plane was on the ground the pilot came on over the PA and explained what happened slightly sugar coated of course. But those who fly enough and have experience similar situations before know what actually happens in these situations. But this was the first that I actually could see how close the other plane was to colliding with us.

By standard joke is: "My whole life flashed in front of me, but I wasn't in it" but I really need to update to something like "My whole life flashed in front of me, but it was Channing Tatum's and I realized how lucky that bastard is"

Late morning for me.

I didn't get up late but I spent the early morning (from 4:30am) transferring CDs to my media player. I'm now done and we will have breakfast.

BK,

I do enjoy HEAVEN CAN WAIT, but I like HERE COMES MR. JORDAN better...particularly Jimmy Gleason as Max Corkle, the manager, and Donald MacBride as the police inspector.

It's about Shakespeare's daughter, and, if I remember correctly, a charge of witchcraft. I liked it very much. It was beautifully staged in London, and the Broadway production was not so good, although my friend Simon Jones was.

I saw the most hilarious production of "Hay Fever" there with Rosemary Harris, Charles Kimbrough and Deborah Rush among a cast of perfect clowns. It was one of the most insanely joyous afternoons I've ever spent in the theater.
