I just finished watching LIFE OF PI.

I have come to the conclusion that locating so many of my old high school buddies on Facebook was not a good thing...some of them grew up to be very strange, and not in a good way....I wonder if they are thinking the same thing about me?

Carol's response to the Johnny Depp story:


Legendary singer/actress/comedian Carol Channing never takes herself seriously.

So, when the Hello Dolly star heard that Johnny Depp wants to play her in a film, the 92-year-0ld responded with humor.

Her rep tells RumorFix, “Carol  says she would be honored to have Johnny portray her in a bio-pic. The fact that he is a man, doesn’t phase her at all, she can’t recall having ever seen anyone imitate her who didn’t have five o’clock shadow.”

Ate some bacon and eggs, then went to Grant's - as I suspected, entering the fixes went very quickly - less than an hour.  Unfortunately he could not open the docx's that I'd sent him with the blurbs and flap copy, so I had to make them standard docs and send as soon as I got home.  So, he has everything now and it will all be at the publisher in the morning.  I'm hoping we can get books at the end of April.

Really?  That soon?  (Sorry I know it isn't Wednesday)

Did anybody see the Pajama Game revival? I can barely listen to the recording. Don't like Harry Connick's laid-back, tenor approach to the role and Kelli O'Hara is bland. It's saying something when listening to the two of them makes me long for Janis Paige's off-key singing.

What other scores do you want to do and is your work on Babes in Toyland part of the wish list?

It is, along with two Jerome Moross scores, several Kurt Weill shows, several Jerome Kern, Victor Herbert shows and orchestra music, Cole Porter - including "Jubilee" - and Rodgers & Hart. It's about 29 shows at the moment.

Well, if I ever win the lottery, you'll definitely be on my list...in a good way!

Did anybody see the Pajama Game revival? I can barely listen to the recording. Don't like Harry Connick's laid-back, tenor approach to the role and Kelli O'Hara is bland. It's saying something when listening to the two of them makes me long for Janis Paige's off-key singing.

The revival was great!  Connick's reputation has been ruined by the CLEAR DAY revival, i guess, but he was great in PAJAMA GAME - I saw it twice.

Maybe it just didn't translate all that well to the disc. I did like his performance of Hernando's Hideaway on the Tonys.
