No-more-raccoon vibes to DR Cillaliz!

Many years ago, when I was living in Alexandria, VA, I was in the upstairs bathroom, brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed, when I noises above me that made me think that someone was on the roof. I called out to my friend John, who was staying with me at the time. His response was the typical, "I didn't hear anything; you must be imagining it."  Then we went up to the guest room on the third floor, which looks out to the bathroom roof. And looked right into the face of a raccoon. Boy, was John startled! Some raccoons are the size of a small dog and, on the roof, do sound much heavier.

After I saw the eyes, I went around to the bathroom window where I could get a better look.  I was looking at his back and thought for a minute it was the big stray cat that has been hanging around the house.  I couldn't figure out how a cat got up there and how the heck it was going to get down.   Then the raccoon turned and I knew what it was.

from DR Chas yesterday:
What the HELL??!!!
I wouldn't be missing a show if I lived within a couple of hundred miles of the place.

DR Chas, I have scoliosis, a curve in my spine, which causes a lot of problems with my back and neck. It's been a number of years since I've been comfortable enough to go out much in the evenings, even to a movie just down the street. There were a number of Kritzerland shows which I would like to have attended.

DR Jeanne, sorry, I meant to post this earlier -- I realized later that that sounded critical of you and any others who don't do as I do (or as I say I'd like to do), and I apologize.  It wasn't meant in that way at all.  I know I tend to be a little more active than many, insofar as having no debilitating health issues (for which I am very grateful), taking advantage of being able to drive hither and yon, keeping late hours, all that good stuff -- so I need to remember that my perspective is somewhat skewed.  Sorry about the way that sounded, and I hope you can get to a Kritzerland one of these days.

It isn't quiet anymore.  I can hear the frogs loud & clear.  I preferred the sound of the rain.

So, according to this news, Champagne is as good for you as cocoa, but it's more fun. I like that kind of thinking.

Well, it's time for me to leave work and go home.  I have some left-over pizza from yesterday and I'm hungry.

Be back later!

George, that concert has two songs from "Rockabye Hamlet" in it. Always wanted to hear something from that. Love the title "The Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Boogie."

No problem, DR Chas. I didn't take it as criticism, just eagerness to enjoy the Kritzerland shows. We take good health for granted, don't we? I hope to see more of the shows on YouTube.

Cillaliz, I'm sure you know that many wild animals like cat food. (I typed that as "car" food.) And, yes, they can do a lot of damage--and can be quite nasty, to boot.
