RE: DR DRUXY's comments on THE MENTALIST

I personally am not sick of Red John. Although it is sort of surprising that they've let it run on this long.

I think it wouldn't make sense for Patrick Jane to be Red John. Besides the fact that it would be out of character for him, Red John murdered Patrick's wife and child. I can't think of anything they could say/write that would make me believe that Jane could murder his own child.  Plus all these people like Lorelai know Red John's identity. So it wouldn't fit at all with they've written/shown so far.

LOL They are not going to make Patrick Red John.  Now he might kill RJ, or be killed by him in the final episode.

POSSIBLE SPOILER? ? ? ?

Personally Keith & I were hoping for the conclusion of the Red John saga this season, yet we found the last episode intriguing with a surprising twist.

I stopped watching "The Mentalist"  because of the Red John go-nowhere obsessive-compulsive story arcs.  That and the main character's smart-assiness!

For the same reason, if "Bones" doesn't wrap up its obsession with the impossibly villainous Christopher Pelant character, I'll be calling it quits on that show, too.

We gave up on BONES years ago.  I watched on and off on my own for awhile.  I know they had a baby but did they ever get married?

No, but they were flirting with it and it finally looked like it was going to happen.  And THEN...the character Pelant made one of his periodic appearances and told Booth that IF he married Temperance, both she and the baby would be killed.

Now...see why I hate the character so much?  He's been around far too long.  And every time they catch up to him, some sort of immunity keeps him out of harm's way.

Regarding the above comments on Bone and The Mentalist...are there any shows that you still watch, or stopped watching, that you feel have run their course?

I am starting to feel this way about MODERN FAMILY. It is a wonderful show, but this season just doesn't seem "right" somehow. Maybe it is because the kids in the cast are growing up, and they don't seem as funny as they once were? And some comedy just seems to be a bit forced.

While I have found MODERN FAMILY a bit uneven this year I'm nowhere near ready to give it up.  There are still some very funny episode.  Speaking of unevenness, same goes for MIKE AND MOLLY which had an excellent episode on this week.

I really (still) like MODERN FAMILY, but I'm getting a little tired of MIKE AND MOLLY...mainly because they're trying to have a baby and I just really don't care about that.  I've never wanted to be a parent (good for those who do) and have no interest in watching people kvetch about it all the time.

Just my 2¢.

We never watched "Grimm" and gave up on "Warehouse 13" a long time ago.  "Criminal Minds" was too dark for Keith which is usually my reason to give up a show he is enjoying.

I gave up on THE MENTALIST when the far-reaching talents of this moronic Red John became the Dr Moriarty of the series: he infiltrates the Bureau, he has followers and acolytes, assistants who kill for him, and the stupidity of it all bit my ass once too often.

Did you watch the last episode of "Mike & Molly"?  There may have been one brief mention of it & Molly went out of town so there weren't any attempts at making one-lol

Maybe we should all write letters letting them know we are bored with Red John :)

I was out all morning in the desert with The Botonist (a new recurring character) so I didn't know anything until I got in the car and heard on the radio that a verdict had been reached and was going to be read within minutes. I tried to listen, but the radio time-killing chatter was too much for me. So I turned it off and turned it back on about a half hour later.

My opinion: I think the jury should only be charged with deciding guilt or innocence and the judge should decide the sentence. My concern is that the jurors would go through the rest of their lives feeling bad about handing down the death sentence. I also don't think the jurors should have to listen to the grisly stuff that is going to come next. They've been through enough.

DR Laura, don't you suspect that by now the jurors have seen 99% of the grisly stuff besides hearing  about it?

The analyst on the radio was saying there is grisly stuff they haven't heard and seen yet. I can't imagine it, but that's what he said.

Picked up THE GREAT ESCAPE this afternoon, and will probably watch it tonight.  Or maybe watch half of it, plus something else.

I just realized how good it's going to be to settle back into the movie room couch after -- well, with all my recent activities, plus a cold -- nearly two weeks!?    :o :)

No...with as little time as I had at home because of "Reservoir Dogs," I didn't have time to watch some things because my DVR was filling up.  I had to pick and choose what not to watch and that was an easy one to drop.  We'll see if I pick it up again later.

LOL!!!
GUILTY MUDER 1 !!!   I'm normally cheering for the defense, but she deserved this one

The range of sentencing possibilities is amazing, anywhere from 4 years to death.  Any idea what the jury will decide?

It's not 4 years to death anymore.  It's Death, life without parole or life with the possibility of parole after 25 years.  If the jury doesn't find the aggravating factor of cruelty, then it's life or life with the possibility of parole.  If they find it, then death is on the table.  The judge actually does the sentencing, I think, so the jury must just be a recommendation. Not sure about that

Out in 4 years for self defense.  I doubt that will happen.

Jane, the jury would have had to find her not guilty for that to happen.

I'm surprised they didn't have to state guilty to what degree from the beginning.

Huh?  They did say guilty of first degree. I'm not quite sure what you mean

I'm sure there is. Don't know exactly what that is.  The state has to prove cruelty for it to go to the death phase.  Their only witness is the medical examiner.  I don't think this will take long

I must have read a screwy article, or an old one even though it said 1st degree.  No wonder I was confused.  I thought it said the next trial would decide if it was premeditated, manslaughter or self defense even though she was found guilty of it.  I always thought self defense meant you got off.

Apparently the 17-year cidadas will be making their appearance soon.  Luckily, I don't think there were any in my shared "yard," if that's what you call the grassy area near my condo.  I remember my friend, who lives a few miles away had lots of them.  They're quite a nuisance.

I'm very pleased it is raining, and very happy it waited until after my morning hike & after Keith mowed the lawn.

Folks on my hike this morning said restrictions on water usage have already begun in town.

Killer wasps don't sound good, even worse than the Giant African snails in Houston & Florida.

Be warned this is a big yuck.
