Greetings from Toyland! I've been to the bank and to Rodgers & Hammerstein. I've now taken care of the Saturday wedding lead sheet. I'll grab a vocal score for Jason and head for the post office.

I expect my usual complimentary inscribed copy for my lovely blurb.  My Kimmel collection has its own dedicated shelf in the library.

It took me over 90 minutes to get home today from 27th Street. I have no idea what's going on, but traffic is a mess and buses are taking their goddamned time running on Sixth Avenue. It waiting 20 minutes before one bus finally stopped. There had been a No 7 before it with the sign "Next Bus Please" flashing. Then, about five minutes later, another bus showed up.  According to the lying schedules the MTA posts at every stop, there should have been one every 10 or so minutes. Because traffic was so awful, it took forever to get to the Upper west Side and at 72nd Street, we were told by a dispatcher the next stop was at 118th and Eighth Avenue. So, everyone had to get off and get onto the already packed bus waiting for us. It was like riding in a sardine  can and every stop piled on more crowds, most of them school kids who ride for free.

So, what the fat hell is going on today?

From DR Matthew:
Quote
No, I guess not.  I actually just had dinner at home this eve with the ex (the other roommate cooked) and we watched some TV.  I still think he's a liar and an a-hole, but we get along.  I think I'm passed being bitter.  That is, until I find myself packing the same things I packed twice in the past two years.

I'm glad you aren't bitter, except when you are packing.  ;)

I hate packing.

Good morning, all! I slept relatively well. Thank God for Tylenol Arthritis; it's pretty good for the pains.

I looked it up to see what is in it vs plain Tylenol.  The website say temporarily out.  You might want to stock up on this.

I like Glenn Ford and Ernest Borgnine....Rod Steiger not so much.

Glenn Ford:

The Gazebo
Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Gilda

Ernest Borgnine

The Poseidon Adventure
A Catered Affair
Bad Day at Black Rock

Rod Steiger

I like Steiger in OKLAHOMA!  Glenn Ford in POCKET FULL OF MIRACLES. Did I ever see Borgnine in a movie? I always confuse him with Broderick Crawford.

Did you see Marty?  That is the role he deserved, IMHO, and won the Oscar for best actor.

I like Steiger in OKLAHOMA!

That was the first film in which I saw Rod Steiger. He was excellent and memorable in it.

He was.  I'm surprised he wasn't nominated for supporting actor.

Good evening.

Drove hither and yon (individually, then both at once) today, from one end of Cincinnati to the other.

It has been one of those days when all the little things went wrong, nothing bad but annoying.

So much went well for me today, the whole traffc-bus mess really rattled me. And they tell us nothing. The entire lower part of Manhattan could have fallen into the sea and we wouldn't know.
