What a super lazy day, just do not want to do anything.

Took a walk at 10am, now it is just plane hot outside, and lazy inside.

Five parts in the play - five people at auditions....interesting.  I will have to see some good people tomorrow to be better than what I saw today!

JRand1962, did you tell us the title of the play you are directing and my short term memory has forgotten it? Given my preoccupation these days, it's entirely possible.

I watched a couple of really, really bad Netflix DVDs, thanks to my obsession with various performers, and I am feeling very  slothful today. I need to have some dinner, and finish the Britten bio.

I appreciate the reviews that DR Ben and others do here, as we're getting their honest take, unfettered by commercial or political influences. So, thank you, Ben. And Larry. And Fred. And any others.

I have to say though my enjoyment of a play can be  affected by how I feel about a subject politically.  There, I admit it.  :)

Interesting, the bar mitzvah I'm going to in a few weeks in the Bronx is at exactly the same place as my cousin's bar mitzvah in April.

Do you mean the temple or the party or both?

DR ELMORE - I am directing Patrick Hamilton's ANGEL STREET aka GASLIGHT.....  It runs for two weekends in mid July.  And by the time it opens, I hope to be cast in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE opening in August.  We shall see.

Yes! I do remember nw, DR JRand62! Around 1971 or so, I saw a gorgeous production of ANGEL STREET, directed by Tony Perkins, at Cincinnati's Playhouse In The Park. The curtain where the Inspector leaves his hat and only just returns for it at the last minute had the entire audience on the verge of a collective breakdown. It's such a good melodrama.

I loaned my Season 2 DVD of Downton Abbey to my friend at work.  She claims she knows nothing of what happened in Season 3.  She's in for a surprise!

You'd have a great time in DROWSY CHAPERONE, DR JRand62, and I think the audiences would love you.

Speaking of Downton Abbey, The Simpsons is doing a spoof of it right now!
