An addition to a recent TOD on Patricia Neal: Cookie's Fortune. She lit up the screen in that one, and her scenes with Charles S. Dutton were acting school exercises in naturalism. Wish the DVD were back in circulation. Prices for it are way too high.

I used to see Patricia Neal around town at various parties and programs by friends in the cabaret world.  I think they were friends she'd made to the Theatre Guild cruises. She was a beautiful and charming lady, always warm and friendly. I think by then she was pretty much confined to a wheelchair. I liked her enormously.

Wednesday....we are having our read thru tonight, but first I have to take some GREEN SCREEN photos of the little kids in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN.

I asked for two sentences from each mother about their child....because I said this is a slide show in the lobby with each slide of two kids running for not longer than 15 seconds.....

This is what I have so far:



Amaya is 12 years old and will be a 7th grader at North Clay Middle School. This is Amaya's first time at Putnam County Playhouse and is having a great time meeting everyone in the production. Amaya would like to thank Mr. Brad Sandy for letting her be a part of this production. Amaya has been on stage since the age of 6 and loves every minute of it! She has been in the following productions Pied Piper, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Paulina's Pizza Palace, Music Man, Meet Me In St. Louis, The Rockin Tale of Snow White, The King and I, Annie, and The Aliens are Coming. Amaya won Best Supporting Actress Runner Up for her role as Tootie in Meet Me In St. Louis with Terre Haute Community Theatre. When Amaya is not on stage she is busy with weekly voice lessons and playing soccer year round. Enjoy the show!!

Be not afeard!   Addison Hughes may be full of noises, but he aims to give delight and hurt not.    The Greencastle Middle School student has previously appeared in Putnam County Playhouse productions of Cinderella, Footloose, and The Tempest (Youth Workshop), where he channeled his inner beast into a curl-encrusted portrayal of Caliban.   In the last year, Addison has appeared on the GHS stage as The World's Tallest Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz, and as Verges in Much Ado About Nothing at DePauw's Festival of Shakespeare.   In the spirit of tooting his own horn, Addison also enjoys playing the trumpet in the school band.

Addison attends Greencastle Middle School. He enjoys being in plays and playing the trumpet.

DR ELMORE - I had NOBODY on the second night....so I used the five people that showed up on the first day.

I am now going in for the read  thru.....which I think will  be only Act One.....and of course photography of munchkins.

DR TCB.....they don't want to pay for anything.  I hate the idea that we even do theatre in our main season with these brats...and expect our season ticket holders to pay regular prices to see the little darlings that for the most part should not be allowed in a theatre without a ticket - and only then in the back and tied to their chairs.

I just heard that the local theater had all of two (count 'em) people show up for the 2 p.m. show.

The devilled eggs are done, the celery is chopped for the chicken and tuna salads, the chicken is chopped, the cookies (leftover from Sunday's after-church coffee hour) are thawing, the iced tea is brewed and chilling, and the table is set.  Soon I will mix the chicken and tuna salads, slice some celery sticks and, probably, quit for the evening.

Had some salmon and a shrimp cocktail, neither of which was stellar and both of which are making me a little nauseous.  Picked up some packages, did some banking, and now I'm home, doing fun stuff to the ghost board.  I've made a new place to discuss all the BK books, which was fun, and I'm going to add Outside the Box to the Nudie Musical board so both can be discussed there separately from the Daily Discussion boards.  I'm truly shocked I've been able to figure all this out and do stuff without killing everything.

I only have ten visits with a therapist left in 2013 through my insurance policy.  For now, I will hold on to them.

You know the old saying, if what you are doing doesn't work try something new.

I highly suggest you find out if those 10 sessions can be done with a PT therapist that does pool therapy.

I wish I had been served this, never seen anything close to being this cute.  A friend found the pic and I copied it.

Horrific attack today against a soldier close to his barracks in south London. He was hacked to death in full view of bystanders by two men using meat cleavers. The assailants who also had guns then stood around apparently taking photographs of what they had done and were shot and seriously wounded by police when they arrived at the scene. Speculation is that it was an Islamist terror-style attack. 

Horrid, and explains a statement on facebook by an English friend of mine.
