Wow, I've been gone from the world for a few days.

A weekend with no phone, no internet, no emails, no driving.

Just sleep and walking.

 ;D

It sounds rather nice.

Additionally, I like Melanie Taylor Kent, particularly her CASABLANCA litho, which I also have.

I looked her up.  I recognize some of her work but not her name.  I couldn't find the Casablanca piece but I'm pretty sure it isn't one of the 3 posters we have.

I can't cancel because I have to take a photograph of CHARLIE BROWN to meet the deadline for the weekly newspaper.

Favorite 20th Century Painter/Artist is

Mary Cassatt.1844-1926

I purchased several of her prints when I visited Washington DC to see brother Kevin years ago.
My hubby made beautiful frames for them.

Among my favorites are

Children playing on the Beach, 1884
The Child's Bath, 1893,
Small Girl in Blue

Your hubby must be talented.  I can imagine they look very nice on your walls.

I spent all day yesterday reading Stephen King's "Under the Dome".  It's a thick book and I didn't manage to finish it all, but am very near the end, which really won't offer a huge surprise but...well...there are only a few ways it could end.

It's a good read, but I confess I'm a bit disappointed that it is remindful of so many other King stories that came before it, primarily "The Tommyknockers" and "The Stand".  That said, King still has a very skilfull way of pegging personality types and the ways they work in social frameworks.

Frankly, I don't know of another writer who can cram as many characters in a novel and have each one of them remind me of someone I know or have known or have met or have heard about.

I bought the book when it was first published but have never read it until now.  I thought I should given that the mini-series of the book will be one of the summer offerings on one of the major networks.

I'm wondering if the series will be better than the book.

Yeah, DR JRand.  When the clerk asked me how old the drapes are I said, "Older than my son!"  She was not amused.

I have a library question.  I think I found out how to request an eBook from my library, only my request says not found.  I know the book is on eBook and my library "Overdrive" has the first 7 books in the series.

Can anyone tell me if their library offers DOG TAGS by David Rosenfelt as an ePub book.

Thanks

Had a really fun rehearsal with two of our gals (Jane Noseworthy and Lisa Livesay) and then went and had some chicken tenders for my meal o' the day (so yummilicious).  On the home front, the new front gate is in and looks and works great.  The worst of the windows has been repaired - paint, of course, to come, when the windows beside it have been spruced up.

Here are some more photos I posted to Facebook today - I would post them here first, of course, if it was easier, which it will be when our new discussion board goes up.  In fact, I'm going to purge the photos on the new board shortly.  But, here's a photo which conclusively proves that a) I was most certainly the ugliest baby EVER, b) my hair today is similar to my hair back then, and c) this expression is one I use often when I don't care for what my musical directors are doing.

Here is a photograph of me at my Bar Mitzvah, between my Martian parents.  For those who've read the Kritzer books (especially Kritzerland, which opens and closes with this very event), you know exactly what I am feeling in this photograph - for those who haven't read the books, the clenched fist and the expression might give you a clew.

And here I am at the same event, dancing (yes, dancing) with Riv-Ellen Prell, Rivie to her friends.  You'll note that she has quite a bit of nerve being taller than my thirteen-year-old self.  This was taken in the little party room at my father's restaurant - it was off the main dining room, which was very old-fashioned and like any classic steak house.  This room was for parties and was more modern.  We all had a little crush on the waitress who's walking slightly behind and to the left of Rivie.

Timberland, the library where I work, doesn't have that title...and I wasn't able to find that we owned any of that author's books.  The title is available as an epub book through OverDrive, but we don't have it.
