Almost forgot - thanks, DR TCB, for the Babs link.

Wasn't that a terrific link?  I am sure it was pulled from the Kevin/Babs Archives.

Our guest star is definite - eight years young Tony Tanner - he replaced Tommy Steele in Half a Sixpence on Broadway and will be singing its title song.  He also starred in the 60s film version of Stop the World, with Millicent Martin.  Should be fun!

Tony's only eight years old?!  And he replaced Tommy Steele??  That's definitely non-traditional casting!

Good morning, all!

I can work at home and avoid the rain today, so I will. At one point I need to run to the post office and return a defective book to a bookseller.

I thought you knew that Adriana was a defective before you bought the book?

The garlic gloves are sometimes quite hard to find, but they add so much to the texture of the finished dish...

Dance class got canceled tonight. So, I'm at home with a bracing splash of gin, Aperol and vermouth with two dashes of cherry bitters and one of rhubarb.

Wow.  Your own creation?

I mixed the drink myself. Recipe? Not really.

Watching "Small Town Girl" tonight and Bobby Van is incredible. I've seen this dance, but I've never seen the movie before. It really is a high point:

Also, has anyone had a problem with  this site's  "your session timed out"?  I'm surprised that this has happened to me several times now.
Larry, when you log in, do you log in at the bottom of a page and specify a time to stay logged in, or do you log in at the top of the page where one of the drop-down box options is "forever"?  I never log out, so I never have to log in...on my home computer, at least.

DR George, that sounds wonderful, but could you explain how to make it work?  I've never understood what that "forever" is supposed to do.  If you stay logged in, how is it your name only shows up when you're really "here"?

In addition to the physical energy I expended at the Y, I've used up a lot of emotional energy today, too.  I'm going to bed - 'night!

I swear he looked older than that when I saw STOP THE WORLD at the drive-in.

I'm not sure why anyone would get a timed out response - it really makes no sense.  Maybe I'll nose around in settings.

I get it quite often since I seem to do the same as Elmore - but usually a second click makes it work

Well, I must go to bed...but I've finished all the "Behind the Candelabra" DVDs, so I'll send them out today.  Just to confirm, the people who've asked for them are BK, Druxy, John G., Arnold M. Brockman and Kate.  And I also have "Carousel" for Laura.

OH OH OH!!!  Can you make one more Behind the Candelabra?   I would love it.

Tonight I am going to a board meeting for an organization I am active with. They have their board meetings in bars. Much more fun than church board meetings.

Is it the   OPCR* meeting ?

I would think that your name only shows up when you have haineshisway up in your browser. So if you leave the page up then it would show that you were always here. But if you are only logged in (but the page is not up on your computer) then it shows you aren't here.

I never log out and I have to log in every time even though it says "forever"

We are trying to hire two assistants at the office  - we had three interviews scheduled today  - the first one was 15 minutes late  and no phone call  - although it was teeming rain and  she was on a highway so perhaps a phone call was not really possible

Interviewees #2 and #3  were just no shows - not so much as a phone call

That makes the decision pretty easy. Time to interview more people
