Thank you to DRs George, Elmore, John G, Laura, and MBarnum for the vibes, commiserations, and good wishes. Exercising at the Y helped, as did the nice spaghetti & salad dinner I prepared when we got home.
At Kroger:
1) Some geezer tried to chat me up about the price of decaf coffee,
2) The first container of cottage cheese that I took out of the cooler had an expiration date of May 1,
3) In the check out line, after I'd waited for the 2 people ahead of me to finish and after I'd loaded half of my groceries onto the conveyor, they decided to close that register, and
4) The bagger in the second line dropped the reusable bag into which she'd just packed my cottage cheese and vanilla yogurt. The white stuff went everywhere and she said, "You can wash the bag..." There was a management-type nearby, who gave me a new reusable bag, made sure I got replacements for the 2 items (which took forever), and nodded sympathetically when I told her what an awful visit to their store it had been.
