Replacing Rob Ashford is always a good idea.  Replacing him with a flavor of the moment won't help - this completely boring new thing of taking all these recent movies and making them into musicals is certainly the dreariest trend ever and hopefully will stop when enough of them bomb.

There is an anti smoking advertisement playing here featuring  a woman who has lost her larnyx and has a microphone  in her throat so she can speak , and who has had some disfiguring  facial surgery - every time I see that I count my blessings ... there but for the Grace of God go I....

Did you ever smoke?

T. J. Lubinsky has another PBS fund-raising special on tonight celebrating the music of Burt Bacarach.  I don't know if it is new, but I have never seen it before.  Anyway one of the songs on the "Pledge Gift" album is a duet of THEY DON'T GIVE MEDALS TO YESTERDAY'S HEROS sung by Dionne Warwick and B. J. Thomas.  I have never heard that duet.  Now I have to track it down or pledge $150.

A couple of months ago the University of Michigan Alumni Association asked on Facebook, "What would you pick as the song of your U-M years.  I replied, "Almost 45 years later, 'Hey, Jude' puts me right back in the Bursley Hall snack bar."  The Alumni magazine summer issue arrived today with the ultimate Michigan playlist on page 64.  My comment is #2 of 15.  Because they're listed in ascending chronological order, I should be #1 (as the earliest graduate), but they put Dhani Jones - famous football player - in the top spot.

That is really cool.  Being #2 is not always bad unless you become #2 by letting that old biddy in the Lotto line ahead of you.

Rocky Raccoon is back outside by second floor bedroom window.  Callie was making eyes at the window so I figured he was back.  Sure enough.  I shined a flashlight in his eyes, pounded on the window and he just kept looking at me like he wanted in to play.   I finally went outside and shooed him.  He went up over the top of the roof, so I imagine he may be back on the ledge sometime tonight.   I don't mind the raccoons, I just don't want them on my house.

Good news, the Dionne Warwick CD is only a pledge of $75.00

Callie had a check up today. She's physically in good shape, but still limps sometimes.   I found out they don't make pain meds that cats can take for more than 3 days.  Sheesh! Someone should get busy inventing that one.
Anyway, I've got some glucosamine for cats that I am to sprinkle on her food. It's a supplement and won't hurt the other two if they eat her food, so I'm cool with that.    The vet did draw blood just to be sure something isn't wrong.  They haven't done that in years and she's been acting funny, so it's worth it to find out. I'll have those results on Tuesday.  She was much more playful when we got home.

I'm waiting for my last load of laundry to dry.  I washed the new quilts from the quilt auction, washed the quilt and blankets from my bed and all the other laundry.

I also cleaned out the refrigerator and went to the store to stock it up with foods I can eat on WW.  I forgot how much you can eat on this diet, just now what I've been eating for the past few years

It's rained all day, so other than the vet trip and lunch with Paul, I haven't been out of the house....except to chase Rocky Raccoon away

I took my shower while the last load is drying. I love the feeling of clean sheets and bedding after a nice hot shower.  I'll sleep well tonight

Tomorrow it's off to see my parents.  I have a ton of things going on this week and am not sure I can make it up there for father's day/ my dad's birthday.  So I'm doing it tomorrow.

Great idea, John.  I can download the song from MP3, if I can remember how to do that.  Also, I know the album that has the song.

The damn Annette's daughter's dog has been yelping for four bloody hours now and I am two seconds away from going out in the street and causing a big scene - or calling the cops.
