Well, DRs, I'm off to the little Tony get-together.  Please have a great one right here so I can enjoy it later!

From DR Cilla:
Quote
I found out they don't make pain meds that cats can take for more than 3 days.  Sheesh! Someone should get busy inventing that one.

You would think.  I found an interesting article on the problem & a 3 day only pain med.

Another crazy day. After church, I slept until noon. THen it was off to something called a Summer WineFest with too much food (including five roast suckling pigs) and vino. Tonight, dinner with friends. Then tomorrow, work -- as if the weekend never happened.

A "Glitter and Be Gay" more spirited than usual, at least for a concert setting:

That may be the best interpretation of the song/aria I've heard since Barbara Cook. She's fun.

I swapped it out with the last spare cord and it worked perfectly.

You must have been relieved. :)

Last night around midnight, the raccoon was back by my window. It scratched and scratched and I could tell it was trying to get in. I went outside several times to try to see where it was and to chase it away. Boo got out one of those times, at 2:00 AM and luckily I grabbed her in the yard, but that was a huge scare.

Thank goodness you caught Boo.  My heart would have been racing with the raccoon out there.

Sounds as if the reading went well....and I enjoyed the photos, of course, and seeing the new Slender BK.

DR JANE I love that quote as well.....the workers' faces are perfect all during the time Myrna Loy is speaking and after she walks away.....

Every time I spend hours deciding on a paint color I think of it.  With all the homes we have had over the years we often think of that scene. ;D

I did about have a heart attack.  She started to go under some bushes and I leaned down and stopped her, then I was able to pick her up.

I didn't like her in this, although she's a wonderful singer.  She's trying too hard.

Oh man,  Pauline or Pearl I think. It was ages ago.  I didn't even try out for it, but the person cast had some problem and they asked me to do the role.  I don't remember much about it except that it was fun

Yeah, so what was June Anderson's excuse? Or Kristin Chenoweth's? Both of theirs are dreadful. I will admit I haven't paid attention to too many others' names, because I haven't enjoyed their performance, such as the woman on the 1974 revival cast recording or the New York City Opera Recording. Or Harolyn Blackwell's.

That adrenaline kicking in is probably why you reacted so quickly. ;)

In our second Michigan house we had to set traps in our attic for red squirrels.  I think it was red ones.  We had a service set the traps though most mornings Bryan climbed up there and we took the trap to school with us and let the squirrel out in the fields near the school.  One day I could hear a squirrel in the trap but by the time I was able to climb up there, not easy because the distance between the stool and the attic was a bit high for me, the squirrel had escaped. :(

Once the squirrels were all gone we had the holes they entered through closed up.
