DR Jrand62 - I think you would look especially fetching in the one on the upper left.

I like the two bottom ones.

From DR Jennifer:
Quote
That is creepy. Definitely don't accept him.  Some people are creepy. While others just probably friend everyone they come into contact with. Either way you don't know him, and since he can't even spell ... well I would click ignore.

I wasn't going to accept even before receiving the "odd" message.  I have plenty of other people I haven't accepted that I actually have a nice relationship on FB through groups or friends.  If I wanted more friends they would be way ahead of this guy.  Basically I'm only accepting people I personally know or have known in my youth.

As for "ignore".  I can "hide" him from my page and only "ignore" if I click on his page and see his invite.  I don't get it.

DR Jane if you go on your facebook page and click on the top left icon (the one with the people) you will see a list of all your friend requests. You can "confirm" or "delete request".

Did you double check what yours says?  Mine is "confirm" or "not now".  Highlighting "not now"  reads "hide this request (the sender won't know)"

DR John G, the whisky cake looks good though I wouldn't call it a fruitcake ;)
With three pounds of fruit in it?

You take your mom, you take your dad
And don’t that make you really glad
The facts of life are facts of life

Your dad was known for Growin’ Pains
That it could make you go insane’s
A fact of life, a fact of life

But your old mom and pop
Gave you skill to get to the top
And hopefully you’ll never stop
And hopefully you’ll never flop, too

Sounds like fruitcake to me. Will be happy to determine the case upon receipt of a large slice.

I've had some chicken soup for dinner, and I think I will sort my laundry for tomorrow morning. I need to do that first thing. Then I want to run into midtown and deliver those Kern scores I didn't get to do this afternoon. It's supposed to be a terribly rainy day, to boot.

I just double checked it. If you just click on the friend button it says "confirm" and "not now". But if you click on "see all" at the bottom you will get "confirm" or "delete".    I'm not sure if that makes sense. But at first you are just seeing it in a small screen. If you click "see all" it becomes your whole screen and the wording changes.

From today's NY Times:

Introducing the cronutthe new Frankenpastry that is half croissant, half doughnut. Yes, yes, the daily supply of 300 at Dominique Ansel’s SoHo bakery is gone in a flash, even with a limit of two per person. It’s delectably cream-filled and flakily layered. But really, it’s just the latest iteration of the croissant in the last 325 years or so.

Of course by December it will probably "look" more traditional.

It's so funny how people just flock to the latest thing, isn't it?  Recently, after forty-something years, Henry's Tacos had to vacate their unique location.  I was never a fan, and it hadn't been doing much business in recent years, but as soon as people heard it was going, you couldn't get anywhere near there.  Where were these idiots prior to that?  And now Henry's has moved just a half-block away - and back to middling business.  Funny that.  And there's a Taqueria where Henry's used to be, whatever a Taqueria is - and the trendy of that neighborhood have, of course, embraced it and it's jammed from morning to evening and I have no doubt the food is nouveau and a bore and filled with cilantro and other things no one ever heard of until ten years ago.

I love a good fruitcake - no liquor please, just honest-to-goodness fruitcake - however, it's hugely caloric, worse than pie.

Thanks.  I never thought to click on "see all", and am not sure why I should have had to do that.  I just deleted him, thanks.  I suppose he now knows that I did this.  Oh well.
