Rehearsal is finished.  I need the strongest excellent vibes and xylophones - I woke up with a scratchy throat that I'm hoping is just from not enough sleep - I cannot afford to be sick for this show or just in general.  I have no time for this.  I'm popping Coldeez and Airborne, but the scratchy throat just needs to disappear by tomorrow or I am screwed.

I almost feel bad saying it was a beautiful day here in the mid 80s.

After work I went to Curves and worked out then mowed the yard.  I got enough activity points I can eat anything I want to and I'm really not hungry, lol.  I did have a light dinner

I'm thinking even though I had a nice big quesadilla for lunch that I'll go over to Jerry's and have some of their excellent chicken soup - that will probably help.  Then I'll go to bed early tonight, I think.

Well, I'm leaving work.  I need to get something to eat, but what.  We'll see.

Until later!

Yesterday I saw the weirdest thing on my bike ride.

On the bike path (the one on the side of the road) there were 2 horses.  And they didn't move to let me by. :)

Even more weird they were police horses. I've never seen police on horses here before. I can't really imagine what they could accomplish.  I have occasionally seen police on bikes they ride the bike paths and go thru the bike paths in the park.

Were they possibly there to prevent people from passing?  That would be a sight to see.  When we lived Michigan a small town near us, Birmingham, had policemen on horses.  I still remember the first time Echo saw them :)

Nope they were galloping down the street (but on the bike path). They probably just couldn't move!

Fireworks were very nice tonight. My favorite part is right before the fireworks start the mayor gets up on stage and sings the national anthem with the whole crowd. And then everyone cheers. And then the fireworks begin. It is actually quite moving.

Watching an early Busby Berkeley movie, "Flying High," with Bert Lahr and Charlotte Greenwood. The numbers are great, but Lahr is really hard for me to take. I don't know if I have ever seen him outside of "Wizard of Oz."

Back from a BIG bowl of chicken soup - really good and it does help.  I'll probably eat something very light at my lunch meeting and then do another BIG bowl of chicken soup tomorrow.

Found this elsewhere...it certainly sums up my weekend in Oakland...and the next couple of days, as well!

Gale Storm sings "Heat Wave"

Note the shot of Zasu Pitts ("Nugey") and James Fairfax ("Cedric"). This was from an episode of "The Gale Storm Show: Oh, Susannah".

I loved that show when  I was a kid.

I'm ready for the Fourth of July to get here. I want a day off, even if I'm doing stuff all that day.
