THE HIGHLAND FLING OR THE BOSTON FANCY

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fancy and flung about, and now it is time for you to post until the fancy cows come home - they're on Highland doing the Fling.

Today's notes were frilly, fun, and frightfully delightful!

Here's some folks doing the Highland Fling. But not in their mother's girdles:

And yes, DR Cillaliz, those were vegan "ice creams," all based on banana.

I had to look up what the word of the day was but I do not see the connection to Candide, can you please explain the connection?

Made it through yesterday though at one point I just came into the blissfully air conditioned house. I couldn't take it outside anymore. As Cole Porter said, it's too darn hot.

We will be visiting our dear friend, Alfred today. We may take a trip to Target before that.

In the early classroom scene, Dr. Pangloss speaks (or sings? - can't remember exactly) about syllogisms.

Again, no oatmeal. We need to go to Stop and Shop and get some. Anthony's parents don't eat it often so when they use it all up they don't rush out to buy more.

Today was yogurt and fruit and coffee. I may have an English muffin as well.

We stuffed ourselves yesterday with chicken, potato salad, hot dogs, hamburgers, fresh rolls, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and black olives, fresh fruit and tiramisu.

Looks great!

And for those on a budget or not near that cheesecake:  Warming up Pepperidge Farm's new-ish cheescake soft cookies has been an astonishing though not low-cal discovery (140 calories per cookie, optional ice cream may be extra if eaten

Good morning, all.

Must go to work today. Not looking forward to it. I expect it will be as busy today as it was Tuesday and Wednesday. And that's simply because I'm the only staff member in my department who's working.

The crew at the fireworks show got hurt last night.

The display blew up on the ground.   Do not know what happened or who went to the hospital.

I loved the music in today's notes.  Both songs are favorites of mine....and Giselle and Bruce are two of my favorite singers.

I imagine Giselle wore a girdle while she was singing "Boston Fancy" - but I don't imagine about it very hard.

TOD:

CD - The Epic Records Story.  I never knew there was an "answer" song to Bobby Vinton's "Roses Are Red" and it's really kind of pretty.

A bit of a revelation in the notes today -- as I believe I am one of those recent newbies who doesn't know about any "Kritzer" music CDs!

What a great idea!  I want it all.  And it just happens I've been looking forward to a second reading of all the books -- which, for me, is often more rewarding than even a great first reading.
