Good morning, all! As soon as I saw Gisele, I thought of our DR JRand62. I also thought she was great.

I could not get to sleep last night, and when I did, the dreams were weird. So, instead of going to Toyland this morning and then coming home to do laundry, I will do laundry and stay home. I'll go to Toyland tomorrow.

I last saw Disney's animated PETER PAN around 1979 in a huge movie theater, long torn down, around Broadway and 49th Street. My favorite moment is the flight from London to Neverland. I love "The Second Star To the Right" but I mostly feel hmmm about the film; I don't value it as highly as several others.

I keep thinking this is Monday.

Disney's PETER PAN, is certainly one of the "classics" I know the least, so I should watch it, too.

I know the ride at Disneyland and WDW better than I remember the movie. Speaking of which, where in the HELL is DR Matthew?

I'm in something of a dream rut. Fortunately, I haven't been bothered with negative dreams lately (knocking wood as I type that), and indeed most of them seem to have something definitely positive or at least interesting about them. But I can't quite bring them back, once awake. At best, I get only a brief image of them through the day, which refuses to flesh itself out and reveal itself. And there's ALWAYS something about whatever the activity is that plays out in some kind of abstraction, that I can't even remember well enough to describe to myself, let alone anyone else.

ARG! Last night there were fireworks going off until after 2:00 AM. Now, if it was just one night a year, I could go along with that, but I've been hearing them for over a week now. AND some yahoo in the neighborhood had a fire so thick I literally had to check my attic to see if the house was on fire. This just stinks.

I hear fireworks off and on all summer. Especially this week, of course, but quite a bit through the Memorial Day and Labor Day weeks, and even at other times. I think it's because I live near a lake and people like to whoop it up there. They're just distant enough, though, that they aren't bothersome, and I rather welcome them as some of the "nice" sounds of summer.

The Arizona State Legislature, in its wisdom, legalized fireworks about three years ago. Great idea in a desert. Most cities immediately illegalized lighting them. But that doesn't stop people.

BK: "Peter Pan" was a childhood favorite of mine, as well. More recently, watching the BD of it, I confirmed its lack of appeal to me throughout its home video incarnations. Musically, the main title is uninteresting to me. As Elmo said, "The Second Star to the Right" during the London-to-Neverland segment is the film's highlight. Other than that, it's a grab bag of uninteresting jealousies (both Tinkerbell and the Indian princess) and the fatal case of sillies among the lost boys and the pirate's crew. It's one big yawn for the likes of me, but then I know others who really adore it. Go know.

Not a thing on my CD or BD or DVD (or even waiting in turn for playing).

I recently did a Summer Cleaning (missed Spring somehow) and neatened everything up and boxed up stuff and put it in storage.

All my errant and truant BDs went on shelves as did all my CDs, even my most recent ones like the Franz Waxman at Paramount and The Far Horizons.

With housecleaning chores under control and an uncharacteristically neat and put-together condo staring me in the face, I have been reading.

Yesterday, I read about 60% of Stephen King's "Duma Key". Am thoroughly enjoying it.

This past weekend, I read King's "Lisey's Story"...another wonderful tale.

I opened my windows this morning and my eyes are watering from the smell of smoke from the neighbors firepit. I used to think my mom exaggerated about stuff like this, but I believe I'm becoming as sensitive to smell as she is. I was seriously frightened last night when I went upstairs and it smelled like the house was on fire. I had let the attic fan run and it must have sucked in the smoke smell. I checked the attic and was still afraid to go to sleep.

Hmmm. We graduated from Broadcasting in 1973. I didn't get back to DINFOS until 1979. So...either he's losing it or I've lost it. That...or we crossed paths somewhere else. As for feeling old, he should be about your age, I think. He was about 2-4 years my junior

Seeing Dexter mentioned reminds me that I need to go to my sister's house to watch the first episode. I don't get the channel.

I'm wondering if other seasons were not on during the summer. Because I'm trying to figure out how I can watch it. I don't want to watch it when my nieces are there. But one of my nieces is off for the summer so she will always be there. Maybe I can go over while she is at her swimming lesson, diving lesson or swim team lesson.

I just happen to be doing some housecleaning and sorting and organizing myself, today. And sure enough, nothing yet is on any media player. Oddly, I'm more productive with this stuff when I don't have music or something playing, unless I'm working right in the "music and movie room" which I will be getting to more over the weekend. I find it totally annoying if I have to walk more than a few steps to change the CD or LP or whatever it may be. Yes, I could play things in other rooms, but it somehow never works out that way.

Can't they stop people from setting off their own fireworks? I've never heard of such a thing here. I don't think anybody does that.
