That's a big help.

Any time, DR John G.! Glad as always to oblige my friends and neighbors.    :)

I hope you are feeling better this morning, Jennifer, and that your headache away goes and stays away.

Thank you. It was gone when I woke up in the middle of the night.

Good. :)

I went swimming for 2+ hours and then biked for 40 minutes. It was starting to shower when I left on my bike. I was hoping it would continue to just sprinkle rain. IT was good for 35 minutes. Then it started raining a little bit harder. But I bike with my umbrella if it is supposed to rain hard (don't want to get caught in a downpour). So I just drove very slow for the last few minutes and stayed dry.

I don't often see anyone riding a bike while holding an umbrella. Too bad you can't share a photo of this. :)

I'm sitting across from DR Kate, who is engrossed in a book entitled "There's Mel, There's Woody and There's You."  I've heard her laughing out loud a few times.

Elmore, I see your name in the credits for 42nd Street Moon's recording of "Something for the Boys." Can you tell me what work you did on the score?

I believe at the end of that recording there are several numbers from "Leave It To Me"(?) that I wrote vocal arrangements for: A Lady Needs A Rest, Farming. I think.

I did vocal arrangements for a couple of recordings that Greg Mackellan produced. I think my favorites are on the recording "Sing Before Breakfast"

No-more-migraine vibes for Jennifer.

Have you tried taking magnesium? My osteopath used to get migraines. She tried Life Extension's Neuro-Mag (which I also take) and hasn't had a migraine since.

TCB - yes, song sequence is very difficult and it is everything.  Get it wrong and people end up not playing the CD again.  Of course with iTunes all that's changed and people now don't even listen in sequence, which I find appalling actually unless the sequence is bad.

I've put together my own CD compilations and although I certainly don't have BK's knowledge and experience, I would burn them first on CD-RWs and listen to them and put them in different orders and not burn them to a CD-R until it all flowed and felt right.  I know I learned of the concept from BK and hope that the CDs that I've made for myself are better than me just slapping them all together.  :)

Bruce, I know you put a lot of time and effort into the albums and the shows. My impression is that many cabaret acts are rather thrown together, sometimes by the singer, sometimes by a musical director. Do you--or anyone here--have a sense of how many are actually "engineered"/thoughtfully planned vs those thrown together?

Familia, with sliced banana.

Coffee.

I used to LOVE Familia. I'd forgotten all about it.

From DR Matthew:
Quote
Saw Johnny Mathis tonight with the San Francisco Symphony.  It was delightful.  He was spot on, the orchestra sounded great and there was a LOT of love in that audience.  So glad I got to see this.

I'm glad to read he is still "spot on".

I wasn't aware he is still performing. How nice for him--and his fans.

BTW, I've been wearing Incrediwear braces and really like them. I'd read good things about Incrediwear, but didn't actually try them until my recent injuries. I'm using both the ankle and wrist braces. Very comfortable to wear and less cumbersome than other brands. I recommend them.

I used to LOVE Familia. I'd forgotten all about it.

I forgot about it for nearly four decades, then on a recent cereal eating binge I decided to try it again.  It's very tasty, soaks up a LOT of milk and gets kind of sludgy, but add a couple of things to it and it can be quite enjoyable.

I miss the days of the Unsung, Lost in Boston, Unsung ___, Peter Pan, Cinderella. No one does them any more and I miss what could have been The Sherman Bros (A terrible mix) and the talked about Alice In Wonderland. But I am glad that I have what BK put out there.

It's too bad that they can't be rereleased even it would be on demand or digitally.

We went out for brunch today and ate along the creek before driving to the nursery for plants.  You can see why I enjoy trips to this particular nursery.

The wrist one looks very long.  If I see one someplace I will try it on to see if it is comfortable.

Sigh!!!!   I hope Bryan survives living in Cleveland.  This time, on the 4th of all days, he was harassed by a group of teens and one slugged him in the jaw.
